The best offer for a team whose best player is a SG is an offer where the return leads with two SGs?

No way are Rockets serious with offering Green.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Unless Phoenix is interested in trying to rehab his value, they probably would look to ship him to a 3rd team. Just not sure who would have interest in him? I could see the Lakers having interest, but I don't really like the fit next to Luka and they'd definitely need a follow-up move or two.

Not asking Phx to take on trash money in Green. So Houston gets to dump 2 guys that are overpaid, one who flat out sucks, and the #10 turns into KD?
Dillon Brooks is certainly not overpaid

Your valuation is insane to me, not even thinking about Durant, having Sengun and Brooks equal to any of those other packages is simply wild

Well Suns could add up to 3 bad FRPs.

I was more focused on salaries and not picks to balance

This is probably the most insane version of Utah going all in, but ...

Trade 1: Anthony Davis
UTA trades: 5, John Collins, Taylor Hendricks, Cody Williams, Keyonte George, Kyle Filipowski, 2027 MIN/CLE/UTA 1st (second best), 2027 LAL 1st (1-4 protected)
DAL trades: Anthony Davis

Dallas trades Anthony Davis for most of Utah's young players and the 5th pick. This is essentially making the bet that Flagg + 5 is a core worth sacrificing AD for and that at least two of the young players coming back will make good rotation players (I think both Hendricks and Filipowski will).

For Utah, my opinion is that teams with a top-10 player can be built to compete. This gets Utah a top-10 player, and we have a ready-made complimentary piece that should really synergize well with our new star.

Trade 2: Deni Avidija
UTA trades: 2027 MIN/CLE/UTA 1st (best), 2029 UTA 1st (unprotected), 2029 MIN 1st (1-5 protected), 2031 UTA/PHX 1st (second best), Jordan Clarkson
POR trades: Deni Avdija
Portland moves Avdija for a mountain of picks. Utah gets the most cost-effective player in the league as their team starts to take shape.

Trade 3: a starting point guard
UTA trades: Walker Kessler, Johnny Juzang
BOS trades: Payton Prichard, Sam Hauser (into MLE)
Utah gets the most cost-effective starting(ish) point guard in the NBA. Boston cuts salary in the short term and adds a long-term starting center + a first.

Trade 4: the perfect fit
UTA trades: Collin Sexton
ORL trades: KCP
I just think KCP round out our starting 5 really well + Orlando desperately needs the scoring.

Trade 5: big sacrifices for depth
UTA trades: 2031 PHX/UTA 1st (best), Keyon Martin Jr., 21
in: GG Jackson, Scottie Pippen Jr., Vince Williams, Jay Huff
Wow that hurts. But Memphis has done an incredible job signing cheap players to long-term contracts. Utah adds four of them.

MEM trades: GG Jackson, Scottie Pippen Jr., Vince Williams, Jay Huff
in: Kenyon Martin Jr., 26, 2031 PHX/UTA 1st (best)
Memphis trades the promising GG Jackson (whose path to minutes seems a bit difficult with their front-court depth) but returns a first this season + the kind of future asset that can help them add a star later.

BRK trades: 26, 27
in: 21
Move up.

Rotation:
Anthony Davis/Jay Huff/draft
Lauri Markkanen/GG Jackson/Deni Avdija
Deni Avdija/Sam Hauser/Vince Williams
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope/Brice Sensabaugh/Jaden Springer
Payton Prichard/Scottie Pippen Jr.

That team would be so cost-effective moving forward, too. FWIW I would rather fully commit to the rebuild, but thinking through building a team around Avidija/Lauri/Davis is kind of fun? I like that trio.

So yes wrestling is fake, but something recently happened that made me wonder if the fans can influence what ownership does. WWE recently released a long time vet named Ron Killings. The crowd sort of high jacked subsequent shows with chants calling for his return. And it worked, the re-signed him soon after.

Do you think this could work in the NBA. Hypothetically if the Fire Nico chants picked up where they left off this season, with an added Trade AD chant?

I do think if they think he is good enough and the team can't compete without Irving + consider AD's age there could be a change in philosophy. Now that the lottery is over I am so glad for Dallas fans they get Cooper

Thanks. I withdrew from basketball after the trade, so happy the lottery went the way it did or I'd still probably be boycotting and missing these great finals.

I guess the question is, could the crowd at games really impact/influence management decisions?

1) need to fire nico first
2) Dont think Portland trades Deni for far future picks at this point in their team building even if value is good
3) Kessler adds alot of money to Boston's payroll next year vs Hauser/Pritchard. Dont see them dealing Pritchard if Holiday is dealt as expected
4) Orlando owes a 1st
5) value is great for memphis. big overpay by utah for bench players

In a vacuum Kessler adds money, but this effectively means Boston doesn't need to bring back KP or sign another center b/c of this and they've already offset what Kessler gets by Prichard + Hauser's salary which would be about $19 million. Kessler probably gets a bit more than that, but I don't think it would be a huge difference?

Hauser can and probably will be dumped into someone elses exception for free this offseason. Kessler adds a lot of money and complicates their endeavour to avoid the tax in 26-27. THere will be lots of teams with capspace too and it only takes 1 crazy team to make a big offer in RFA/take advantage of boston's payroll concerns
