This is probably the most insane version of Utah going all in, but ...
Trade 1: Anthony Davis
UTA trades: 5, John Collins, Taylor Hendricks, Cody Williams, Keyonte George, Kyle Filipowski, 2027 MIN/CLE/UTA 1st (second best), 2027 LAL 1st (1-4 protected)
DAL trades: Anthony Davis
Dallas trades Anthony Davis for most of Utah's young players and the 5th pick. This is essentially making the bet that Flagg + 5 is a core worth sacrificing AD for and that at least two of the young players coming back will make good rotation players (I think both Hendricks and Filipowski will).
For Utah, my opinion is that teams with a top-10 player can be built to compete. This gets Utah a top-10 player, and we have a ready-made complimentary piece that should really synergize well with our new star.
Trade 2: Deni Avidija
UTA trades: 2027 MIN/CLE/UTA 1st (best), 2029 UTA 1st (unprotected), 2029 MIN 1st (1-5 protected), 2031 UTA/PHX 1st (second best), Jordan Clarkson
POR trades: Deni Avdija
Portland moves Avdija for a mountain of picks. Utah gets the most cost-effective player in the league as their team starts to take shape.
Trade 3: a starting point guard
UTA trades: Walker Kessler, Johnny Juzang
BOS trades: Payton Prichard, Sam Hauser (into MLE)
Utah gets the most cost-effective starting(ish) point guard in the NBA. Boston cuts salary in the short term and adds a long-term starting center + a first.
Trade 4: the perfect fit
UTA trades: Collin Sexton
ORL trades: KCP
I just think KCP round out our starting 5 really well + Orlando desperately needs the scoring.
Trade 5: big sacrifices for depth
UTA trades: 2031 PHX/UTA 1st (best), Keyon Martin Jr., 21
in: GG Jackson, Scottie Pippen Jr., Vince Williams, Jay Huff
Wow that hurts. But Memphis has done an incredible job signing cheap players to long-term contracts. Utah adds four of them.
MEM trades: GG Jackson, Scottie Pippen Jr., Vince Williams, Jay Huff
in: Kenyon Martin Jr., 26, 2031 PHX/UTA 1st (best)
Memphis trades the promising GG Jackson (whose path to minutes seems a bit difficult with their front-court depth) but returns a first this season + the kind of future asset that can help them add a star later.
BRK trades: 26, 27
in: 21
Move up.
Rotation:
Anthony Davis/Jay Huff/draft
Lauri Markkanen/GG Jackson/Deni Avdija
Deni Avdija/Sam Hauser/Vince Williams
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope/Brice Sensabaugh/Jaden Springer
Payton Prichard/Scottie Pippen Jr.
That team would be so cost-effective moving forward, too. FWIW I would rather fully commit to the rebuild, but thinking through building a team around Avidija/Lauri/Davis is kind of fun? I like that trio.
