I think that is a fair concern. But one thing some need to realize is that when you play for a team like North Carolina or a Duke. Everyone wants to be the star, so sometimes it's hard to stand out.
Using one example was Patrick Williams didn't even start for Florida state before he went top five.
So certainly one has to consider what you said. But since we are not likely contending next year, one good developmental year could improve him and help and reach his ceiling. And of course, it always matters. Who else is available
I get what you are saying about a team like Duke, but NC hasn't been a really good team for a while.
Also Patrick Williams is a bust so far for a top 5 pick.
Boston went with one of done players recently that were not very productive in their one year of college ball. I'm talking about Walsh and JD. Neither one has done anything in the NBA yet. I don't think Boston is in a position to pick another unproven college player and wait and see what they might turn out in 3-4 years.
Again, you are not wrong with your assertion. Technically, they are all unproven college players however. And again, i'm not even saying he would be my top choice. Most of my evaluations come from the film. And a much smaller part statistics. But somewhere between J Brown and Jordan Walsh I think his ability lies. This Is getting fun, but I do Hope Stevens gets this right.
I do too. I would love to keep 28th and 32 and get two quality bigs. There is a chance two of our top three bigs are not on this team next season. Al was a big part of our championship year. Or a good center, along with some like Fleming or Clayton.
