Apples and oranges... One is asked to be a Batman and the other is asked to be a Robin.

For me the Magic made the right pick for them.

ORL was in desperate need for a true #1 option and 2 years in, it looks they hit a HR with that.

While OKC needed a big that could play off of SGA. I don’t think Paolo would as impactful as he is if he was playing off of SGA. Plus OKC needs rim protection.

that's just another way of saying Orlando needed a true #1 option star, and OKC needed a role player. Which just proves the Banchero > Chet point further

It’s tough bc I think Chet is a massively overrated offensive player BUT on defense he brings a lot to the table, which could make him more valuable than a mid #1 option.

I am very curious who these teams are with a versatile giant wing PF leading them to the chip. LeBron... sure, of course. Beyond that though.. mmm.. Bird... Dirk maybe.

I don't disagree he can be that guy, but I wouldn't blanket statement it's one of the prominent championship positions. Guards and Cs have been more impactful there imo.

I mean is Chets offence massively overrated? I always though Chet would succeed in the nba, but were people expecting more than 17 ppg with good across the board efficiency on a top regular season team in the league with one of the best scorers in the game? Man, I'm kind of satisfied with where he's at right now.

Call me when Chet has to lead his own team. Shai is the first guy teams try to stop on OKC.

Full disclosure I liked Chet a lot more than I liked Paolo when they were both draft prospects.

But I do think it’s clear at this point that both guys went to the right spots for their respective games.

It was so obvious, going back to high school, that Chet is going to be a superstar. There were few players I was more sure about, and okay, we still cannot fully declare that he is one right now, small sample size, I know, but man, if you watching that kid play, and you don't see two-way star, I honestly don't understand why. He has no holes in his game, and this was so obvious in his rookie year, or even before that. That level of mobility, length, shooting and shotblocking, as well as B-ball IQ and passing? He is almost as unique as Wemby. He could be a better Dirk, or a Dirk/Lively combo, or something crazy like that. PB is awesome too, btw, he also has superstar potential imo.

i like paolo a whole lot, and did predraft. if the thunder had the opportunity to take paolo and chet i was basically 50/50 as a thunder an at the time. but my thoughts are the same as they were last year, i don't think paolo can match chet's two-way potential.

They're both in a great position to grow and fully realize their potential with the teams that drafted them. They'll both be stars in this league for a long time to come, but I think Paolo is a number 1 option on offense and Chet is a defensive anchor. Neither will ever be as good as the other on the opposite end of the ball.

They both will be great given their situation. I feel this is a debate that will go on until they retire.

It's a lot closer than people think. It's not a blunder like the Luka draft. I think Paolo is perfect for the Magic.

Chet still has time to develop. He's not better than Paolo currently, but his ceiling is definitely higher.

This is the comp people have been making for years.

OKC will obviously consider trading him over the summer. Just that he may have hurt his trade value this year. He’s very injury prone and hasn’t developed offensively.

Not sure if he’d be able to get Giannis even with OKCs draft capital at this point.

HolmGOAT will have a tremendous bounce back game. Yes, he was a baby giraffe out there today, but he's got a mean streak in him and he will be back for game 7. Next year he'll be carrying an extra 5 pounds of lean mass as well!
