Yeah something like that. Lakers are going to use FA this season.
I actually wonder if they'd consider Kleber+Dalton to Nets for 27 and opening the space for NT-MLE and BAE.

Who should the Hawks target in free agency as a possible SnT?

Gafford and distant seconds for 22 - Atlanta says no?
Gafford and a 2026 swap for 22 - Dallas says no?
Gafford and a top 4 protected 2026 swap for 22 and a couple seconds? Maybe both sides look at it?
Gafford and a 2026 swap for 13 - Atlanta says no?
Gafford, Naji and a top 3 protected 2026 swap for 13 and Niang? Maybe both sides look at it? With Dallas using Prosper and a future second or two to dump Niang on a third team to open up most/some/all of the MLE.
Atlanta gets to bet against AD being able to carry a team, especially with KD wanting to play with Wemby from the looks of it, while also getting two affordable pieces you’re happy playing 25~ minutes per game..
Or if Dallas actually wanted to try to win something and not just do the two time line thing.. being able to make a trade package of Klay+13th+2029 LAL first for a guy making 36-40~ million. With the ability to add more youth value (Lively:2031 first) or more neutral/positive salary (PJ, Martin, Christie) depending on the player in mind..

I don't see the Hawks trading #13 except to trade up. 13 is a spot where they can potentially get a player that falls out of the top 10. I don't like the 2026 swaps for either pick as we already have an initial swap with the Spurs, then another convoluted swap with the Cavs via Utah and I think 2 other teams. Nothing to be gained on the positive side of the ledger for 13 or 22 in that scenario.

Am I wrong?
The Cleveland/Utah part is only if Utah tries to win (they shouldn’t) or Cleveland wins the lottery somehow… or and then if Atlanta or SAS finishes with a better record than Cleveland? That seems unlikely
Only one of those seems to have any real odds of happening, though I guess they’re all possible?
So the swap is most likely just betting on AD/Flagg not being able to carry a team as well as either Wemby/Fox/whoever they add or Jalen/Trae.
That seems like a safe bet even as a Dallas fan…

If thats the case I think as it stands all 3 teams (ATL/SAS/DAL) projects to be in the 9-15 range so the difference isnt enough to warrant moving a lotto pick for?

The difference between the range of the swaps isn't enough value to give up #13, a lottery pick in this draft.
