There are very few good players that don't have that as their default. It has to be coached out of them. The only great player I can think of that didn't have iso and getting their shot as their default is LeBron and he has gotten grief from media in the past for making the correct basketball play over forcing his own shot.
KD getting traded on the day that OKC wins their first championship is a nice touch of irony. The West is going to be tough next year. Houston had the 2nd best record and they add KD. Denver will still be Denver with Jokic, Murray, etc. Minny is going to be tough. The Spurs should take a big jump forward with Fox, Wemby, Castle and the #2 pick. If Castle develops a 3pt shot the Spurs could be the #2 team in the West next year and that is before they make any additions via trade, which they have the assets to do. Dallas will be tough if Kyrie recovers to go with AD and Flagg, along with the rest of their solid rotation of big men. The Lakers with LeBron and Luka are going to be tough. LAC has a chance to put up a fight. GS with Curry, Butler, etc. will be very good. Phoenix has a chance to be very strong if Green continues to develop and they nail the #10 pick with Booker and if Beal is healthy for the playoffs they could be a tough out.
The East doesn't look to be as strong with Boston and Indy both taking significant blows due to injury. What would be a wild shift would be if LeBron went back to the East to give himself a significantly better chance at making the Finals again. I could see LeBron trying to force his way to Orlando or Detroit if he doesn't want to fight with the juggernauts in the West. It could be a very interesting off-season.
