Must mean RJ is a phenom or some sort of prodigy.
Our front office literally referred to Ingram as "young" and he's entering his year 28 season. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
This is how I see age brackets in the NBA:
Young: 18 to 24
Middle Aged: 25 to 30
Old: 31 to 37
Ancient: 38+
All you have to do is sort the table of players by age and it immediately becomes apparent how few players there are in the NBA over 32 playing real minutes on an NBA team. Here's a complete list of players over 32 who played at least 1000 minutes last season:
40 LeBron James
39 Chris Paul
38 Al Horford
37 Mike Conley
36 Brook Lopez
36 Kevin Durant
36 Steph Curry
36 Russell Westbrook
36 Nicolas Batum
35 James Harden
35 DeMar DeRozan
35 Jimmy Butler
34 Nikola Vucevic
34 Damian Lillard
34 Draymond Green
34 Klay Thompson
34 Jrue Holiday
34 Paul George
34 Mason Plumlee
34 Seth Curry
33 CJ McCollum
33 Kawhi Leonard
22 names is a short list. Very few players have productive careers after 32 and most of the ones that do are former stars who are still good players but have lost a bit of a step or are frequently missing games due to injuries. NBA basketball is a young man's game.
