“The logical solution is to combine those picks into a single premium pick. According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, that appears to be exactly what the Thunder are working on. Givony said the following on ESPN’s SportCenter:

“I keep hearing rumblings that the Thunder are trying to move up. They have 15, 24, 44. They could package all three of those picks, look to move up four or five slots, maybe six to Toronto. It’s not clear on their roster that they have any real needs right now so they can afford to take a swing on a high-upside prospect who fits that defensive DNA that won them a championship.”

If this were the NFL draft, I’d be all for trading down. But in the NBA, the higher the pick the better chances of getting a quality player that makes an instant impact. Not a fan of trading down in the NBA.

Suns desperately need instant impact players, not projects. And projects are usually after the top 10 (with some exceptions obviously).

We're ironically in a similar situation with #10, #29, #52, #59. I don't expect we take 4 guys in this draft. Certainly not trading down for an additional 5th pick either.

The Suns should be looking for more future draft capital. Trade back this year from 10 to 15/24.. Take one of those picks for future years

I think they need more picks as they need more darts at the dart board. I don't need to see the Bol Bols or Damion Lees at the end of the bench

Given how short we are of FRP over the next few years, I'd much rather spread out our shots rather than concentrate it on this good but not great draft. As I mentioned to GOK, we only have so much bandwidth for rookie/youth development and drafting 3-4 prospects is going to absolutely stretch that

Point Green is coming for sure.

I actually like point green! He is like a Westbrook

Let’s grab Westbrook as well

I mean he's nothing like Westbrook, even young Westbrook but ok

Maybe a trade back guy, IDK I just like his profile more than like half the dudes mocked ahead of him.

There's really only one guy I have my eye on who I really would consider trying to move up for and that's Kasparas Jakucionis. But there's a decent chance he's gone by #8 or #9 since I think Toronto could use another playmaker. But if he's gone, then yeah I'd be open to moving back and grabbing Sorber and move up from #29 to get Fleming. It's two bigs but they do quite different stuff on the court and I love the prospect of having 2 dudes with like 7'5 wingspans

I like Fleming. Looks like an active defender who can finish at the rim and from 3 with great size. Just don't ask him to dribble

Getting him at 29 (or somewhere in the 20s if you can move around) is something I'd be very cool with.

Yeah I'm high on Fleming, bit of an older prospect but I love what he brings to the table right away.

No I agree. They probably trade them to move Beal

Did you watch him play? I have just watch some highlights. What do you think about him?

I found his stats really unimpressive and he doesn't seem to be a shot creator/facilitator. Great on defense? Potential as a 3&D?

I think that Cedric Coward is similar to him but he has already shown that he can score efficiently and he is great on defense. Similar size and athleticism, Coward 2 years older.

I'm not high on Bryant. I think his player profile kind of fits this team because he's a bit bigger and is a 3/4 tweener with a shot but his college production just doesn't give me confidence. Low minutes is one thing (Book also played low minutes off the bench) but per36 production also wasn't really impressive either. His shot is suppose to be one of his strong suits but he's sub 70% at the line and a 37% 3PT shooter. Not exactly eye catching

Shams:

First draft pick trade of the night: The San Antonio Spurs are trading the No. 38 pick in tonight's NBA draft to the Indiana Pacers for a future second-round pick and cash, sources tell ESPN.

I think I slightly prefer Derik Queen (if his comp to Sabonis is close to correct), but I don't know enough about anyone else to prefer them to Carter Bryant. I think he can and will likely be a better player than Dunn in time. But yes, the question is can they play 3/4...or does Dunn have trade value if we took Bryant.

Of course we will probably trade 10 to move Beal.

I like Queens size. Newell is taller but will probably need to bulk up

But you are right - to move Beal they will need to add a first

Give me Murray-Boyle at 10 and Kalkbrenner at 29 and I'll be happy.

Man, I just hope we don't mess this up. With Ishbia, all bets are off.

What would be something you considering was a “mess up”?
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

I think Queen would be a minor disaster in my books. We need a culture reset and a low motor scoring big who doesn't play good defense is not who I want setting the culture.

Trade off Beal and ten to get Danny Wolf.

Two sources removed.

Passing on a solid player and instead taking a flyer on someone who is rated as a late first or early second round pick... like Jalen Smith was when we passed over Haliburton. Or others in that same draft.

Trading down to get other picks and drafting poorly.

Picking ANOTHER guard when we don't need one.

Anything else?
