Which further proves my point that Herro isn’t as good as you all think if we keep losing games with him as a 1st option with him not even being able to produce as our top option.
Can you, Dion, hallstar, carna, bballfreak, fincane, etc tell me what Herro has done in a Heat jersey to be revered to as a god? Most of our success came absent of Tyler n
Can you tell us what has you revering Austin Reaves as a God?
Seriously, what about me saying he's a second or third option makes you think I revere him?
Oh I don’t, I think they are both pretty similar players. Good on one side of the ball, that’s about it. I don’t see much difference between the 2 and I’m not even arguing that Reaves is better or way better I’m just saying they’re close. Maybe there’s a miscommunication

Tyler Herro is not the problem.

As an aside, the only victory was thanks to Herro’s heroic performance on the road in Boston.
Everyone's reading experience on this board would be improved if we just didnt take the bait. Same crap over and over again

Was out for the 2023 finals run, was a non factor for the 2022 run, now tell me what he’s done in a Heat jersey to be revered this way amongst some in the fanbase? Is it because you all think he’s cool? It can’t be because of his production, it just can’t. It’s something deeper

Even if it is true that they are indeed 'close' - I don't understand what the point of the statement is? Reaves will be a free agent in 26' and just turned down 22.5m/ season. He's going to get paid > 30m a year - probably more money than Tyler will make in 2026-2027.

You don't even seem to know what you're arguing. And you're inconsistent.
Tyler Herro starts his career with an historic playoff run but you call him a playoff choke artist. Austin Reaves has a few games here or there when he plays without other guys and that, somehow, is proof that he could put up those numbers for a full season with only Bam Adebayo as his second option. Got news for you - proof of concept says you've got things backwards, my man.
I'm not saying Austin Reaves is a bad player but until he actually proves he can do what Herro did this past year, I stand by my statement.
Jeez, I'm actually defending Tyler Herro. WTF?!?!

So are you ignoring Reaves having the same type of playoffs his first time around? And yes, Herro is a playoff choker, he has been abysmal since year 1

Again, you don't know the argument.
It's not playoffs v playoffs. It's as a number one option for a season. I'm saying that there is more proof of concept that Tyler Herro is a strong playoff performer than there is that Austin Reaves can be the type of player Herro was this season. In other words, Herro has more strong playoff performances than Reaves has as a number one option.
Get it?
Tim_Hardawayy wrote:There isn't some huge Herro fanbase on this board, he gets crapped on regularly, people just want consistency. If you think its OK to crap on Tyler cause he'll never make it and fawn over guys like Reaves instead, then you should have no problem when others do it for guys like Julius Randle in reference to Bam. On the flipside, if you want to defend Bam's honor and be insulted when people desperately praise the Randles/Collins of the world to denigrate Bam, you ought to have the same takes for Herro vs the Reaves/Lavines. Otherwise it just looks like you're a player fan picking favorites, not a Heat fan.
I agree the jury's still out on Herro long term, nor do I disagree that the gap between Tyler and Reaves is massive, but there's definitely a gap, and if we're giving up on Tyler I'd much rather it be a pure upgrade than for a guy whose older, and whose CEILING is Tyler Herro. That's just sad.
EDIT: I'd also consider Tyler for picks/spare parts depending what direction we go in. But thinking we're going to replace him with Austin Reaves and it be an upgrade is delusional.

Herro
Reaves
Adebayo
Irrelevant mediocrities all of them.
Thank goodness (or Adam Silver/Nico Harrison) I have Luka.
Xoxo.
