If he has done so poorly, why let him oversee the draft? Why let the entire management team stay?

It’s not performance-related. It’s contractual / can’t work with Ed Rogers related.

If it was on-court performance related, they would have let everyone go in April and let a new group take over the draft and FA process.

It's both. Ed no doubt asked him to take a pay cut on his ludicrous contract for an extension because of his underperformance these past 5 years and Masai's ego was never going to allow him to do that.

I truly don't know. I don't follow other sports. From my perspective it just seems like we fired a top NBA executive for no reason. I thought money made the most sense. An ego driven firing is quite possibly even worse.
