Three out those four teams are poorly run NBA organizations that always have a bunch of rotation/roster/two way spots available which is unsurprisingly more enticing for players than signing an Exhibit 10 deal with Boston. When the Celtics can provide similar or better contracts than those teams then they get the players (see: Sam Hauser, Drew Peterson). It's really not that complicated.

It would be undeserved humiliation to make him play for a 4th year.

Maybe Vrabel and his team will have things buttoned down sufficiently next year to step in and bag some top UDFAs for Team Brad.

If Tatum really is still in a boot, I don't want that boot to be in Vegas.

Not kidding when I say I viewed the drafting of Gonzalez as a shot across the bow of the HMS Begarin

which, to be fair, is on the bottom of the ocean, near the submerged remains of Juhann Island

BUT IM THERE WITH IT!

Begarin is amazingly only 22 still. Yam 24. I'd probably invite both to summer league and see if they come over.

I took Brad's quick and firm response that Hugo's coming over and that they are good at developing guys might reflect their perceived lesson learned from the Juhann and Yam experience.

I think your interpretation makes sense for sure... still, if we don't sign them but just invite them to summer league and see if they show up and show what they have, no downside to that that I can think of. I am not worried about blocking minutes for others as the summer league team is always filled with lots of flotsam and jetsam.

Maybe. Some people just like to hoop, though. But, I would leave it up to him for sure.

Looks like as for now the only Maine Celtic's in SL are Rico and Norris. I don't think Drew needs to play to be honest. He's better than Walsh and should get a minimum deal.

At this point wouldn't you like to have Yabs rights? He's an NBA player now at least.

Sure. But what I remember from his year in China was him dunking in the open court with a hand behind his head like Karl Malone

It didn’t quite translate, at least for five+ years:)

China was probably the best thing that happened to him as a Frenchman who didn't like the food.

The Celtics have added the NCAA's steals leader to their Summer League roster.

Hayden Gray, a UC San Diego guard, shot 41.8% from three last year & averaged 3.3 steals per game.

Well, this is the first time I've ever heard of him, but these highlights look really good. Just comparing highlights, his look a little more impressive than Shulga's (who I'd also never heard of til the draft) to me, because of the defense. He looks like a better athlete, to my eye. Maybe he can play his way into a two way.

Looking forward to summer league.

Here go highlights. He looks good.

Eh..he still has yet to prove he's capable of being an NBA rotation player. Until then, I don't see the problem with JD playing summer league.

It's not like he's "got nothing left to prove" or is "too good for summer league" since he can't even crack an NBA rotation.

And he hasn't even been that good for the most part during his first 3 summer leagues.
