I think out of sight, out of mind is happening a little to folks. Go back, if you have league pass, and watch Iveys games from last season. No way I'm moving him. At the very least, his trade value is going to skyrocket by the dealine, if the need arises. Moving him now would be incredibly shortsighted, unless an absolute killer move is being made.
The funny thing about Ivey is he actually might be our most clutch player. There's not a whole lot of value behind that, but when 3/4 of our playoff losses were one possession games (with Cade missing big shots and Beasley losing a ball), it's worth noting. I'd hate to move him, he's coming off his best season and shot 40% from three. Yes he is poor defensively. IDK why a large number of people on this forum think all starters have to be GODS on both ends of the floor. That's not realistic. What you need are guys who's strengths offset their teammates weaknesses, and we have a pretty good balance of that. Around here the vibe seems to be that Duren and Ivey will never amount to anything because they don't play defense, and Ausar will amount to nothing because he can't score. A player is only good if he shoots 40% from three, averages 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals apparently. Like come on. People just love to focus on the negatives. And yet people salivate over a guy like Devin Booker, who is coming off a pretty bad defensive season. Obviously Booker is better, just saying some people on here are hypocritical that our **** stinks but no one else's does.
I think it's insanely clear management has no intention of moving any of the young guys, Harris likely stays too. Schroeder I think is long gone, so it will be interesting to see what they do about that. Beasley I expect back. THJ probably depends on if he prices himself out. I'm sure they'd love to have him as a veteran locker room guy off the bench for dirt cheap, but if he wants any substantial money, Lanier can probably play a very similar role as THJ did.
