Not something a contenting team should worry about.

Basketball IQ Sexton had a 1.65 Ast/TO ratio and 14.1% Turnover %. Tyus was 4.7 AST/TO with 7.4% turnover %.

I like Tyus for this team but his value is wrapped up in ONE statistic...Sexton is a far more impactful player. He is superior in EVERY trait other than playmaking efficiency.
Guys that score 10 pts efficiently aren't the same as guys who score 20 pts routinely...ask Gary Harris
I hope we sign Tyus, but this Sexton thing is baffling...I wonder if he's made it clear that he wants a big raise and that he won't be re-signing in UTA.
I don't really like the fit with Ball but when the deal is that sweet - you grab him and figure it out or flip him at some point.

What would CLE give up?

I noticed their twitter handle says "New Era. New Mindset" and wow that has been obvious with some of their draft and trade choices.

Oh it’s very complicated.
Because the Cavs are over the 2nd apron they cannot aggregate multiple salaries in a trade.
So they would have to dump a contract, probably Strus, without taking much/any salary back just to get under the 2nd apron.
Then once they’ve done that, it would be something like Garland/Allen for LeBron.

Better?
They onlu have 1 C and he is a 2nd round rookie. Their "backup" is a sophomore 6'9 RAW as heck dude

I meant in the long term. Not next season.
They acquired a bunch of really smart high character players, which is a departure from what they used to do. Sion James, Sexton, Kon, and Kalkbrenner fit that more than Ball, Miller, and Bridges.

Ah yeah of course... but don't they at least try to compete?

Great deal for Milwaukee. It seemed Portis wanted to get paid, I thought he'd want more than the MLE after all the discounts he has given them. At the MLE, he could've had options and pressured them.Knightro wrote:
Equivalent of the full MLE over 3 years.
But they used bird rights and still have access to their full MLE.

Wonder what Chet will get. Maybe just a tad more than what Suggs got?
