I like Cam more than MPJ but I’m always wary of trading picks that far out.

Cam J if he can stay healthy will be amazing for you guys , Bruce I hope he will be rejuvenated too

MPJ well he will be in Cancun early every year

I hope trade will work for both franchises ( You get another championship and in 2032 you will get us top 3 pick while Jokic riding horses back in Serbia :D

Or it could be worthless. A necessary gamble by both teams.

Jokic might not even be on their roster by then.

you never going to have a Joker again, get whatever you can get to help him to WIN. This is where the warriors missed so many opportunities.

Excellent deal for Nuggets.

Price for Cam dropped hard.

Bruce Brown has already signed.

I guess Clint Capela went back to the Rockets……made no sense since the Rockets have Sengun and Adams at center

Nuggets still need a backup center. Not sure if Ayton would be interested, or Denver would need to wait around the deadline. If Jokic can play around 33 minutes this season, he can be much fresher in the playoffs.

They have their 1st round pick from last year coming back from injury. DaRon Holmes will get minutes this year

I can't believe we got off MPJ's contract and got a good approximate player in return.

I remember Cam playing pretty well against us when that Suns team swept us. Phoenix fans adored him. I think he's going to be great alongside Jokic.

Truth is Cam had very uneven season too similar to MPJ , there will be games when he will be their second best player , but he got plenty of games that he didn’t deserved even starting spot

Maybe he wasn’t motivated enough on tanking Nets but he had plenty of very mediocre games too

he is going to be amazing next to Jokic, he can pass the ball you know, a real scorer not just a shooter.

Salaries:

Cam Johnson: $22M/year
MPJ: $38M/year

Both are injury prone, but this at least freed the Nuggets up to improve their depth by adding Bruce.

It was due. MPJ was never going to evolve his game next to Jokic. Johnson is a better defender and doesn't have to worry about being so stretched out as the main playmaker. He's going to get some great looks in this offense. I'd rather see him come off the bench and they start Peyton Watson at the 3.

It's a risk in the sense you mention but he will also get more space, not have to be 'the guy', and is a shot creator in a way that MPJ is not. Plus Nuggs move off of MPJ's huge contract. Lots of benefits all things considering.

Great move by Denver... got a cheaper and slightly better version of MPJ that allows Denver to add more depth to the team.

Now the only question is which Bruce you’re getting

Is it Nets/Nuggets high energy amazing role player Bruce

or is it Indiana/Toronto shell of his former self disinterested lazy Bruce

I'm hoping it's the former. He got his money ($40M) but at the price of playing on bad teams. He'll get to reprise his old role as the main 6th man off the bench. But obviously that is a concern.
