He's NOT a clear upgrade over Cam. He does not fill anything we need off the bench. It's only a vet minimum except all we have to spend are vet minimum deals. It's not as simple as people make it sound. Slim pickings is the only rationale that makes sense but, hoping he surprises me.
He's obviously a clear upgrade over Cam Payne what are you smoking this morning? in the playoffs our whole bench averaged like 15 points per game, Clarkson clears that by himself, also saw on twitter that over the past couple of seasons he has posted an assist percentage on 24%. only Brunson has a higher percentage on the team, he's bringing scoring and play making off the bench. so again a clear upgrade over what we had.
43.6/33.6 career numbers vs 41.9/ 36.8. Where's the upgrade? He played more minutes than Cam so his PPG are higher. What will they be in a limited bench role? 2.9ast vs Cams 3.2ast and JC was playing more minutes. That's a drop off in playmaking.
He's not a playmaker. He's a chuck on bad teams. We have limited funds and still need a backup PG/Wing/C. Now we have less to spend. Hoping one of the kids can pass him up because if they can't, we are not improving with this move.
Imagine being apoplectic over Jordan Clarkson for the minimum lol
We have no cap space. All we can do is minimums and one $5.7M MLE. How many actual difference makers do you think are out there signing for what we can offer?
It's just like last year when people went nuclear that we let iHart walk when we literally offered him the most we could.
