lol no I'm using his track record rather than a 600 min sample size to hype him up

The track record is a few times greater in the other direction. It's a full year at 22 w/ the Rockets, half season w/ Clips after his hiatus, then half season w/ the Bucks.

The track record is 19 wins, 17 wins, 20 wins, 22 wins

That's how many games his teams won each year in his first 4 seasons in the league.

That's really the argument, on a rebuilding team, as a kid? It's incredibly weak. He did his part the last yr at least.

By this logic, SGA couldn't become a difference maker cuz he didn't make the playoffs his 3rd and 4th season. 5th he made the play-in. Then we can do Cade.

Flip Kuzma for KCP. KCP was awful last year, but Grizzlies are looking move him and the contracts are a waste- fits the Bucks needs better with Portis resigned.

It keeps Giannis happy .

I get why they did it but geez. Thats a lot of money for a player thats not on your roster.

Their roster looks worse then ours and we just lost 3 out of 7 starter/rotation guys and might lose 4

lol Celtics fans about to come crashing back to Earth now that their roster isn’t giga overloaded with talent

lol I am saying his numbers (which weren't great anyways) are meaningless on a team that bad

If he magically becomes a 60 TS% and the Bucks are really good, I'll change my opinion.

As a Bucks fan the Celtics were really scary the last two seasons but next season I have 0 fear of them. They’ll probably still be in the playoff mix but I really doubt they’re a top 4 seed

I’m still in shock over these moves by Milwaukee. Hat tip to them for trying something dramatic and unexpected. Turner makes a lot of sense since he’s basically a younger version of Brook Lopez for them. I’ll be very curious to see how the rest of the roster takes shape.

But in a weak East, they are in a surprisingly good position given where they were 9 months ago. Just need to find a way to get some help in the backcourt.

They sort of had a rivalry too, these past couple of seasons.from the in season tourney final, the issue with the game ball, Pacers mocking Dame etc

That's pretty weak actually, i don't like it at all but this is 2025, expectations are very low to begin with. When players make so much money, 90% are just gonna be about the money. They're not in it for pride anymore, that's for sure (most players anyway)

I'd take him for the vet min for rehab and help mentor the young guys. He wanted to be here. There is no risk.

Dame probably laughing about this. Gets paid out and join a contender when he is healthy. Easily the biggest winner from this situation.

Has an NBA team just eaten $100 mill before so they can sign more guys? (Myles Turner!)

It’s actually pretty impressive for a small market.

It's one of the few cases where the short term gains are worth it for the long term salary pain. Would have been a tough offseason for them if they couldn't pull off a move like this.

anytime you can sacrifice the next half decade to sign the 5th best player on the Pacers you gotta do it

The Bucks are convinced through experience that Giannis needs a 5 next to him who can shot block and shoot from range, and Brook is ancient. In Myles they get a guy who is younger than Giannis (what a concept) finally.

The still owe 2028 (swap), 2029 unprotected and a 2030 (swap) for the $22mm/5 years of dead money on their books.

They have no guards that are at contention level and no assets to trade.

This is a "they swallowed the spider to catch the fly" situation on par with young LeBron and Cleveland.

I mean... in most cases I'd say I agree, but this is the same org who thought Doc Rivers was the answer.

What the actual hell are the Bucks doing. That much dead money for the next 5 years vs dangling a massive expiring contract next year lol

Destro just ran in my office and said "Yo your majesty ...the bucks just waived Dame...but are still paying him 113MIL just to gtfoh, and just signed Miles Turner, and I think they overpaid!?!?"

Image

and I responded with

"was it me or was Miles the 4th or 5th best Indy player in the finals?"

Didn't Miles just avg 10, 4 and 1.6 assist in the finals.... and when the "Haliban AKA the snow bunny assassin" went down Miles stepped up and gave you 6 points, 4 rebounds 1 assist and NO blocks in game 7

the bucks just got a guy that didn't matter when it mattered most
