Portland is not going to make moves in 25/26 with the idea in mind that in a year Dame will be a good bench scorer. Thats completely insane.
What role do you think Dame is going to have on a team going forward when he returns? 3rd stringer playing minutes in blowouts? That's completely insane.
6th man. Or a starter on a win-now team with ring aspirations that has elite defense.
He just had the most serious sports injury there is at age 35. We just invested 70M in a different, healthy, 2-way guard. Dame just isnt a fit here.
He could have the same role here in 2026 if Joe does his job right (...).
Let Scoot fight for the starting job, if he can't win it, he's a bust and you should get something for him. a Dame minimum deal as the back up to Jrue or playing them together would be a pretty good back court.
We disagree, it what it is. Maybe I'm more a Dame fan than a Blazer fan. This franchise sucks, lies to their fans, dgaf about winning, hires yes men that suck at their jobs.
All Dame has ever done is give everything to this city, tried his best, carried his team, gave us years of the best sports memories a fanbase could ask for.
So yeah, I want him back in Portland. Idgaf about Jrue Holiday, he doesn't even want to play here. Maybe Dame doesn't either, but if he wanted to come back, he's earned the right to finish his career here. Joe's career here is gonna be over in a year anyways so he might as well do something to make the city feel good for once in his life.
