He was probably playing through an ankle sprain. He sprained it early in the Knicks series (game 2, I think).

As I was saying in the Damian Lillard thread I think this opens up Bradley Beal to the Bucks via their Full MLE. The Bucks have been rumored to be on Beal's short list of destinations he would waive his NTC for but this scenario doesn't even require him to do so. Suns waive and stretch Beal (giving up $2.8 mil per which is $13.8 mil in Full to satisfy the 15%) opening up the Suns to use and split their Full MLE on Chris Paul (beat out Clippers offer) plus GP2, Brogdon or someone else they want.

The Pacers have their Full MLE to fill their gap in Center with either a similar switchable stretch big in Al Horford or perhaps a different look with Ayton.

Bucks don't have the full MLE - they are using cap space to sign Myles Turner so they will have the Cap Room MLE assuming they are not going to have to use that to sign any of the guys they already committed to.

This is what it’s silly when you hear people pressuring stars to take pay cuts. Indiana just picked money over keeping the team together, so don’t want to hear anyone asking Halliburton or anyone else taking pay cuts for the pacers ever.

It sucks but as a fan I don’t exactly feel this way. Team was ahead of schedule. You picked Mathurin at 6 and Walker at 8 and those were the guys you thought you were building around Hali long term. Then the team made an early leap and we made some win now moves, but we never punted on the youth either. It sort of feels like it’s back to the original plan now, and that plan likely didn’t include Turner anyway. Taking a small step back now to make a bigger step later feels like the wise move under the circumstances. The Pacers have managed their assets extremely well and I see no reason why they won’t be back in the mix in a couple seasons.

Actually, it seems that he paid closer attention to Indy's playoff run than you did. Turner seemed cooked. He could not defend his position. He could not jump. He was a liability in many stretches.

If it turns out he was laboring with an injury that was being covered up, that's one thing. But if not, I would never have given Turner what Milwaukee just did. If the Pacers had to let a player walk, they chose the right one.
