Me too. I'm shocked and devastated.

onerome wrote:But I was also wondering, was he hurt in the playoffs? Because i saw him in the bench for long periods of time during the Knicks/Pacers match up.

He was probably playing through an ankle sprain. He sprained it early in the Knicks series (game 2, I think).

The Bucks have been rumored to be on Beal's short list of destinations he would waive his NTC for but this scenario doesn't even require him to do so. Suns waive and stretch Beal (giving up $2.8 mil per which is $13.8 mil in Full to satisfy the 15%) opening up the Suns to use and split their Full MLE on Chris Paul (beat out Clippers offer) plus GP2, Brogdon or someone else they want.

The Pacers have their Full MLE to fill their gap in Center with either a similar switchable stretch big in Al Horford or perhaps a different look with Ayton.

Bucks don't have the full MLE - they are using cap space to sign Myles Turner so they will have the Cap Room MLE assuming they are not going to have to use that to sign any of the guys they already committed to.

I mean, the Hali injury can’t be overstated.

Also, the Pacers have long had interest in Ayton, I wonder if his surprise buyout made them more comfortable that they can move on from Turner for a much cheaper Ayton?

This is true because they tried to sign him and Phoenix maxed him out.

Good point. That throws a wrench on the hypothetical Beal acquisition unless he's willing to take a small hit financially

Whoever made fun of you for letting go of Brook Lopez of all people should have their head examined lol

ESPN ran a special about it last night saying we were pushing Giannis out by letting Lopez go....the thread for Lopez signing with the Clippers was full of people saying "Well, Giannis is leaving for sure now."

Congratulations and I hope you shore up the rest of your defense.

You have a lot of good pieces.

Lopez - 13.0/5.0/1.8 - 1.9BPG - 62.4TS%
Turner - 15.6/5.6/1.5 - 2.0BPG - 61.2TS%

So instead of paying Lopez $10m or whatever it would have cost to retain him... they instead are gonna pay $47M to stretch Dame and get Turner

This is where stats fail you. Myles actually can switch out onto a player.

Lopez could only play drop. Still keep that fantasy league energy.

Now it's time to trade Kuzma plus perhaps a pick for a better wing, then sign Russ Westbrook and they're set.

Bucks are paying him not to play. They didn't do anything dirty to dame.

That was a silly statement. He can choose his team now.

tbh this has nothing to do with Giannis staying.. he's still headed to the Spurs. This is so the Bucks have a competitive team, despite low assets.

Turner was recruited by Giannis so a move to SA is not likely happening. Where did you get that idea?

Toppin was better Pacer come playoffs time than Myles Fricking Turner , sorry but that is the truth and I watched every single game

Every team loves the idea that Toppin is your rim protector.

This is not the case. They just did not want to pay any tax. That has nothing to do with the new CBA.

38% from 3 and 50% from the floor is bad?

He was the only one stopping Holmgrim at the rim to. He could play in space but why let facts hurt the narrative.

Toppin can't be used as a starting C, and Toppin was not better defensively

Turner is easily replaceable by many much cheaper C , he wasn’t special and most of the time he was straight up bad

You really know nothing about basketball or are you trolling.

His defense is why they signed him.

Brutal for the Pacers. Haliburton out for most of the season after major injury. Turner gone. Only a game away from winning it all. After making so far, that journey back seems like a very long one.

This is what it’s silly when you hear people pressuring stars to take pay cuts. Indiana just picked money over keeping the team together, so don’t want to hear anyone asking Halliburton or anyone else taking pay cuts for the pacers ever.

It sucks but as a fan I don’t exactly feel this way. Team was ahead of schedule. You picked Mathurin at 6 and Walker at 8 and those were the guys you thought you were building around Hali long term. Then the team made an early leap and we made some win now moves, but we never punted on the youth either. It sort of feels like it’s back to the original plan now, and that plan likely didn’t include Turner anyway. Taking a small step back now to make a bigger step later feels like the wise move under the circumstances. The Pacers have managed their assets extremely well and I see no reason why they won’t be back in the mix in a couple seasons.

Actually, it seems that he paid closer attention to Indy's playoff run than you did. Turner seemed cooked. He could not defend his position. He could not jump. He was a liability in many stretches.

If it turns out he was laboring with an injury that was being covered up, that's one thing. But if not, I would never have given Turner what Milwaukee just did. If the Pacers had to let a player walk, they chose the right one.
