Cade will ALWAYS get double teamed regardless. Levert shot 37% last year and even if he shoots 35%, he is solid from 3 and is a solid ball handler who dishes assists well all while being decent on defense. Very solid signing regardless how you try to spin it.
If you didn't notice the spacing difference last year for cade, not sure what else I can say. It was night and day.
Levert is a solid NBA rotation player, just not a floor spacer. It's not like 35% is the bottom of what to expect. 5 of his seasons have been 32% or below. Teams play him for him to put the ball on the floor because he's really good going downhill. They aren't trying to be up on him on the catch. A guy like that can certainly have a role on the team, but we also need multiple guys in the rotation with some real shooting gravity where other teams will play them tight on the line. Robinson is 1. Teams typically play tobias like that. We'll see how teams play ivey, and that will be huge if he can sustain his progress from pre-injury. We still need another rotation guy who can space though.
Between Levert and Duncan, I have no issues with spacing any more than last season. That is
up to JB to devise a strategy.
100% on the underlined part.
People are getting wayyyy too caught up on stressing to replace x number of 3 pointers, or y % of 3pt shooting. That is being much too literal. You only worry about such things, if you don't plan on evolving and just try to do what you did last season.
If your coach is worth his weight in salt, he'll utilize the skillsets of the personnel he has available to create a viable offensive scheme.
For example, Levert is an extremely more well rounded player than Beasley is. JB should be able to lean into Levert's secondary playmaking ability, and his ability to attack off the dribble and get to the line more than Beasley can.
Levert is a much better chess piece, than Beasley. There are lot of other ways to stress a defense than having a high end catch and shoot guy (who doesn't do much of anything else) on the floor.
