Not sure how you get Luka, still have Lebron, and want to wait 2 years to try and put the team together. Weird. Luka showed just a year ago he doesn't need that much.
Are we adding unprotected future picks?
Cause if not, I’m not seeing the allure for the Nets.
No. Claxton is probably not worth his contract. So the value is getting off the future years and a low level prospect.
But good to see fan prices in Brooklyn are still set triple retail even after the stuff that sells goes for far less.

Brooklyn just got an unprotected pick from Denver when they’re probably going to be headed into year two or three of a rebuild without their own picks, along with a player who is a wash to Cam Johnson on the court, 2 years younger, albeit on an albatross yearly amount, but double albeit for the same length of contract, that only 2 years.
Probably at least 70% of Nets fans figured this type of value for Cam J. Either one guaranteed late lotto pick this draft; or a couple likely to convey, but likely mediocre future picks; attached to either mainly expiring salary, or a decent young player on a fat undeserved contract, who can likely be reflipped for at least neutral value in the near future.
The dancing on the corpses ashes in the, “I told you so”, manner from a big chunk of fans and media is honestly pretty weird. Brooklyn did very well in this trade and right in line with expectations from fans such as myself. I’d be shocked if Jokic was still in Denver past say 2030. It’s definitely a higher value of the far out unprotected picks league-wide imho.
I’d be a little surprised if Clax doesn’t bring back similar value. Like a pick almost a lock to be in the teens in ‘26 or ‘27, or a far out unprotected pick from a risky for that team’s situation; attached to shorter so-so salary, with maybe a couple seconds, or a lower level prospect with at least a couple years of rookie scale left.
