Mind you - he was a terrible fit in Phoenix. He could be better here, perhaps.
To be fair he wasn't "terrible" in Phoenix. He just didn't provide what they needed. He was redundant when you have KD and Booker. They all play a similar style of ball at this point in their careers. Beal was still a very efficient scorer which is who he's been most of his career. Phoenix needed steady PG play and Beal said he struggled trying to be more of a facilitator than a scorer. Phoenix also needed defense and Beal isn't known as an elite defender.
I think here in Miami he would have a clearer role as a scorer on the perimeter which is an area where we still need help and honest have needed help even during the Jimmy years. My issue with having Beal is who the hell plays PG? The following lineup isnt a bad line up on paper
Herro
Beal
Wiggins
Bam
Ware
Do you swap out Wiggins for Jovic for more of a facilitator to help? In that scenario you lose a defensive presence in Wiggins (He should be better defensively with a full off season....I hope). Wiggins would be allowed off the bench to jack up some shots in that scenario though.
