Walter Clayton Jr. looked so bad on defense, at least 4 times players flew by him like he was standing still. Especially in transition. Really really worried about him on that end.

Flip was equally as bad on defense, was jumping at pump fakes from Adem Bona on the three point line, 0-2 lifetime three pointer. Flip fell for it not just once, but twice.

Ace looked good early, but Utah SL has too many mouths to feed. Collier, Flip, Bailey, Cody, Sensabaugh and Walter Clayton is too many guys.

On the flip side, VJ looked awesome as the only guy that mattered and he shot 27 times, nobody on Jazz shot more than 13 times.

doubt flip and brice play too many more summer league games, especially vegas

ace gonna get his 20+ shots soon... and all next year since jazz dumped anyone over age of 23

but, for now, lots of neon green lights on that team

im sure they wanna see ace find other ways to impact. bounce back game tonight, incoming?

in other news... holy **** jaku and knecht have been bad. not great start for slow white guards. kon/liam, your turn?

Great input J-MIZZY.

The thing about Walter Clayton's defense is he is a MATADOR defender. He will let you drive by him and *at times* SWIPE the ball away or lead to a double team or steal. He does that often which CAN be effective if you have the right persenel/roster. But can also be costly. Usually he will be in the right place come the right time of the game

So much science to defenders. Some are SINGLE COVERAGE LOCK DOWN DEFENDERS and some are MATADOR. Same in FOOTBALL you have guys that will try to take EVERYTHING away, some take away the DEEP BALL etc... Some draw you in slot etc...

Watching the OKC vs SIXERS GAME. No way AJ Mitchell wasn't the best PG in that draft. Dude is savvvy

I enjoy summer league to see the top prospects and 2nd year players play, but I have no idea why people watch for nobodies who will be lifelong gleague maximum 10 day contract dudes. Alot of people talking about people who will never matter in the basketball space of the NBA. That's a Hornets fan problem. We have sucked forever we accept it and root for nobodies who will be nothing at an NBA level.

Topic's a lot more aggressive tonight though. Looks like OKC's done it again.

Will Richard was so opposite of Walter Clayton on defense lol. Clayton is a matador and Richard is the DOOR lol.

Passing on Ace was so stupid lol

Future 20+ppg scorer. You can look at him and tell once he settles down with the bad shot selection he's gonna cook in this league.

He honestly looks like a better prospect than Miller at this point during their career. Miller didn't have this kind of explosion this kid has. He's a good rebounder to be so slim.

Hornets always screwing up picks.

So, there's a guy named Phlandrous Fleming on MEM which I like to read as Philanderous Phlegmy. This is all I need from a rando summer league game.

What worries more than Ace is Cam Spencer, on the other team sinking every 3 and looking amazing off-ball. He was #53 in last year’s draft.

Why does the 53 pick in last year's draft making 3s in summer league worry you?

Seriously this is pissing me off

We literally had a chance to pair Ace and Miller 2 athletic wings who can both score. Passing on Acen because of character concerns and taking a unathletic shooter is just something only the Hornets would ever do.

Hell if he didn't want to be here we could have used him as a trade piece to get something better back then Kon.

Why us! :banghead:

im more annoyed that we picked Noah Vonleh and PJ Hairston over Nikola Jokic. So stupid! Sell the team already.

( I have decided this is how I'm going to respond to the "we should have drafted....." comments that continue to come in )

I’m more apt to see if he can do it against real pros. Miller and Ace are different players. Miller is the better shooter. Ace the better athlete. My advice: don’t get so caught up by summer league games either way.

Because we spent pick #4 on that exact player.

He was the BPA my comment has nothing to do with summer league. It's the fact we passed on the BPA because of character concerns.
