Every player has some warts, but we really need someone stronger for a backup PF. And what if Tobias goes down?
I guess right now we have Ausar/Stewart/Reed as our backup PF?
Need to turn that TPE into something.
Unfortunately some on this board argue against adding rotation players as they seem to have this belief that our 9 main guys will be entirely healthy for the 82 games. When most of us know that will never happen.
I think PJ Washington would be a prime candidate to fit into the TPE. We can't rely on a 33y/o Tobias to be our sole true PF next season.
Id luv him too but I just can't see Dallas.letting him go when they're trying to win
I absolutely guarantee that if you throw 1sts, and 2nds at Dallas, they will bite. It all depends on how one values PJ Washington. He is a perfect fit to me, as the team can keep Harris. Keep adding until it gets done. Dallas has a shiny new rookie coming in, and PJ is essentially a backup for them. Throw in Bobi Klintman as well.
To me the future firsts only have value in a trade. PJ is a perfect blend of defense, shooting, switchability, and demeanor. It also helps he went to the finals with Luka, a player Cade is very similar to as well, and understands the assignment. He also has a protector sensibility, shown in a very iconic clip with him and Luka.
PJ or bust. Dallas ain't competing for a title this year, they know it, and everyone knows it.
