Knicks roster depth:
C: Towns/Mitch/Hukporti/Yabusule?
PF: Towns/Yabusule/OG/Hart?
SF: OG/Mikal/Hart/Dadiet/McCullars/Diawara
SG: Mikal/Deuce/Clarkson/Hart
PG: Brunson/Clarkson/Deuce/Kolek
Not necessarily in likely order or even potential lineup, just the positions each player can play.
At this point for that last roster spot the Knicks could add just about any position.
There's something to be said for a defensive minded 4/5, since Mitch is injury prone, Hukporti is a ? to some degree and Yabu isn't a great defender.
If you think of Clarkson as a SG with some creation skills then maybe PG depth is the way to go.
It's going to be a locker room fit thing most likely. Maybe either in an area the Knicks have some injury depth concerns or somewhere where the Knicks are thinking of the possibility of a future trade and want to roster someone for a potential move even if the move never happens.
Knicks are kind of overloaded with guys who profile more like 3s, even though I know the line between 3 and 4 almost doesn't exist anymore and even the 2 is included.
But kind of a lot of guys who aren't the best dribble drive creators but not tall enough to be a problem on defense/3&D.
Unless Dadiet or Diawara pan out and they are both several years away more than likely
Clarkson was a good signing and addresses some backcourt creativity and shot creation for others
Yabu gives the team another option at PF/C with the ability to spread the floor.
Team kind of lacks that depth 3/4 3&D guy who is more proven.
Considering how the lineup can be juggled at the 2/3/4/5 with KAT/Yabu/OG/Mikal/Hart being able to play more than one position, it's not an issue unless the injuries are bad and then who really cares.
