It gives Miami a first and maximizes optionality with cap space next offseason. Suddenly having 4(?) tradeable FRPs and maximum+ cap space in 2026 while still having Bam, Herro, Mitchell, Ware, Jovic, Jaime, and Pelle under contract is a pretty sweet place to be.
It's a lot more enticing of a proposition if interesting contract extension decisions are made by impending FAs on other teams in August.
