Cam Payne missed those in the playoffs, too.

I see some people talking about him getting 20-25 minutes per game which is a much bigger role than Payne had when the team was healthy.

13-18?
Is he even the backup PG? Starting 5 avgs 32 mpg. Whoever comes off the bench should split the remaining 80 minutes. That's how I see it. Numbers may fluctuate but, you can go ten deep at 16mpg avgs if you have the talent to run ten guys.
Deuce/Clarkson/Hart/Yabu as a bench getting 20mpg? Huk as needed? The kids have to fight for their minutes if they want them/deserve them. Flip Mitch for one of Hart/Deuce?
There's ways to get everyone enough minutes and not have to overlap weak lineups. Going 9-10 deep while doing it. Occasionally giving kids opportunity when logical. It all depends on the roles everyone is needed to play and how healthy we can stay. We still have another two spots to fill.

Come on now. They did not bring Clarkson here and he did not sign here to play 15 mins or less per game. He will see no less than 20-25 mpg. This season is going to be more fast paced and offensive focused than what we saw with Thibs. He is a long combo guard that can play next to JB, Deuce, Mikal and Kolek in different lineups.

He's lucky to get 15-20.

I think you are underestimating his role. Without Thibs, expect to see less Josh Hart. Clarkson will dig into his minutes and he will be around 20-25 a night. Deuce will probably be down to 15 from the 25 last season and Bridges will probably be down to 30-32 from his 37 last year.

I have no expectations with him. That way, if I'm wrong, I will be happy.

He did not come here to play less but if he plays like he did in Utah, I’m not gonna be worried when we bench his ass.

I'm gonna remain optimistic that he can fill a need and not be a bad decision.

He is a bad shot taker and maker. He is a wildcard just like JR Smith was. Expect some long 3s in transition, fadeaway 3s off screens and a lot of cursing. You will have a lot of oh god, no! Why shoot that? YES!!! moments.

I'm gonna let it do what it do. I know what his basic profile is. I am not a fan of an inefficient chuck and duck but, in a limited role maybe he makes sense. Being a minimum player in a bench role he needs to know he isn't gonna be a focal point. 15-20 mpg should be his role unless he excels here. IMO he's battling with Yabu for 9th man until proven otherwise.
I am still impatiently waiting to fill the roster and coaching staff as well as sign Mika/Mitch to extensions. Summer league and then the dog days waiting for things to be finalized. There's a lot of summer left.

I say they just let him be the bench scoring focal point and then just hustlers like Yabu, Deuce, Hart and Hakporti around him.

Yeah, I think he will be sharing the load. Inefficient offense is not a good focal point. He will also be on the court with other starters. We aren't doing hockey subs are we?
