Amir Coffey
Monte Morris
Both can shoot the 3 and provide backup depth at a position. Not sure Amir is quite in his 3rd place years yet, but Monte probably is. Monte will play mistake free, low TO basketball and shoot a high % from 3 on low volume. I also expect some games where Jrue is injured (I still think the flag on his physical is concerning) and he tends to miss 15-20 games a year. Plus Scoot hasn't been without injury concerns.
If I was to add a realistic depth piece, it'd be Monte Morris.
I was also a little bit surprised that Jabari Walker signed with PHI on a two-way deal. I thought he would have fetched something fully guaranteed somewhere...
I assume Monte is looking for at least a clear backup role but may be wrong. I sorta expect him in DEN for the VM if they dont resign Russ (I think DEN is in a holding pattern right now until they figure out the Jonas situation).
Jordan McLaughlin fits well on paper. High character, plus defender, adapted to a 3rd string role. Like him as a cheap 3rd string PG option.
Elfrid Payton would be the idea fit if he could shoot even just below average. Can guard PG and SG, fits the defensive identity, hustles, good passer. But just so bad at shooting you cant roster him.
Delon Wright is another name but as with Monte - I presume he wants at least a chance to be a consistent rotation guy still.
