1) Gabe+Knecht for Grayson Allen
2) Simmons for $3m (waive Milton)
PG: Reaves (14) | Simmons (3) | Bronny (2)
SG: Grayson (17) | Goodwin (2)
SF: Luka (46) | LaRavia (6) | Thiero (1)
PF: LeBron (53) | Vando (12) | Kleber (11)
C : Ayton (8) | Rui (18) | Hayes (3)
$196m total right on the 1st apron.
Lakers could trade Kleber expiring for a cheaper deal to open money for a 15th player midseason.
Pretty happy with this team tbh.
2) Simmons for $3m (waive Milton)

That startling lineup defense would be horrific
Thybulle for Gabe/Maxi, 2nd and swap
Or Thybulle and RW3 for Knecht, both expirings or try and throw in Vando and keep Gabe
POA defense and screen navigator may be even more important than wing defender
Ideally a guy who can do both, but I don’t think it happens

Grayson is a decent defender

According to what?
Negative EPM this season
He would be a very solid offensive weapon next to Luka, Bron, and AR though
Thybulle or Wiggins are the best fits that are realistic. They can do screen navigation and fill the POA role and also wing defender
Thybulle better with guards and being disuptive playmaker. Wiggins better with wings and has more size
Ayo is too small for wings
Knecht+Kleber for Rw3, Thybulle, and a future 2nd?
Luka, Reaves, Thybulle, Bron, Ayton
Gabe, Laravia, Vando, Rui, Rw3
I really like the upside here
If we arent getting Horford as a stretch C, I want Rw3
I kept Vando in this deal in case Thybulle gets hurt for some time (unless we sign Ben Simmons)
Still can look to sign Melton or Brogdon as well and move Gabe+Vando/Kleber and 2nd/2nds

I don't know that it'd cost Knecht to get Grayson, frankly. I'd rather try and use Knecht in a trade to get a PoA defender or good wing.
Serious question, how realistic do we think it is for Indiana to trade Nesmith, and what might he cost?

FO can't crap the bed with the Lebron transition situation. Can't keep losing contributors for nothing or squandering expiring situations. Lebron may be high maintenance and it would even be stupid to give him the Kobe legacy contract but if you think you're just going to replace him because you're the Lakers they haven't been paying attention. Teams no longer just allow superstar free agents at the top of their game to hit the market. The real superstar FA is now final year contract trades. You have to actually keep Lebron in the loop if you're going to have a chance of finding a destination that doesn't screw you over.
It's the Ray Allen with the Celtics situation. When they exercise their right to walk they will cry foul about getting blindsided.

Ya we need to use Knecht for a defender
That starting defense would be horrible with Allen
No way does Indi let Nesmith go after losing Turner. If he was available we would have to offer 2031 1st, Knecht, swap in 2028/2030 (Maybe both to overpay)
Thybulle and Rw3 for Knecht+2 expirings is probably my favorite realistic trade
I feel like its a very good deal for Portland honestly, maybe we ask for a future 2nd even
Other option is give them Vando and keep 1 of the expirings (they dont give us a 2nd, maybe we give them a 2nd/cash)
Unless we feel like Wiggins can be had for Knecht+expirings+Shake (waived)+swap+2nd
Still not sure why there hasnt been resolution for guys like Melton, Horford, and Shake Milton's contract

I'm finding it hard to feel for Lebron at this time. He "loves" LA. He's not dumb and he had to know the ownership and Pelinka are morons. He lived and experienced it. I mean, yes his run has been unprecedented, but this ending is very anti-climactic.

Probably could have chose Clippers

Getting a climatic ending is very hard unless you like retire at the top which i guess he could have done after 2020 but then his career longevity would look less impressive and no scoring record

Story isnt done yet...
I think this team is a contender with some more tweaks
We have 6-7 playable playoff guys:
Luka, Lebron, Reaves, Ayton, Rui, Laravia and then maybe Gabe
A POA defender like Thybulle and another backup big would do wonders
I like the idea of signing Melton and trading for Thybulle and Rw3
A lot of injury risks, but I think all 3 guys can play in the playoffs and contribute
Other most realistic ending is get traded to GS this year or walk to CLE next summer

Hope Bron goes somewhere else.. I don't like the Lakers so I'd be happy to see him move back to Cleveland. Maybe even GSW and having a last run with him and Curry winning it all would be awesome.

As much as I'd love to see him win while still playing at an All-NBA level and ride it out that way into the sunset, I don't want him going to GSW.

Lakers get KCP and Konchar
Grizzlies get Rui and Vincent
I think this solves a lot of issues for both teams

Pass
We arent adding any extra playoff calibar guys here, were just swapping Rui for KCP
Kleber+Gabe+shake+a 28 swap for KCP would be ideal
Reaves, KCP, Luka, Bron, Ayton
DK, Laravia, Vando, Rui, Hayes
I would maybe even throw in DK and remove the swap if they wanted to give us back some 2nds and then can use those 2nds in another deal
Ideally sign Melton or Horford

Luka 20fga
LeBron 18fga
Reaves 15fga
Ayton 12fga
Rui 10fga
That's 75 fga per game from 5 players. Lakers probably only put up 10 more fga.
The point is that Lakers have too many guys effective with large scoring loads. Moving Rui for defenders with low scoring need to impact is what they need to do.

I dont really agree, I dont think you can have enough capable scorers
Rui is one of our best shooters and a playoff caliber guy
I want to add on top of him and move Knecht
Who would our backup 3/4s be without Rui? Just Vando lol
Remember we let DFS walk for no reason
Also not like Laravia, Gabe, Vando, Hayes, are guys who shoot a lot
I think KCP would be a nice get for us, but if it can be Knecht+expirings/1 expiring and Vando for KCP and some small assets, thats what I would do
You still want Rw3 if he can be had for an expiring and a 2nd?
