What is obvious, though, is that he's a hell of a scorer, can beat people off the bounce and compromise defenses, which is a dynamic we haven't had since Irving left.
I'm definitely open to seeing what he looks like here. Maybe he turns out to be as bad as some on here think he is. Since I don't watch Portland, I don't know, but I am intrigued to find out.
I can fill it in for you, (as someone who watched a fair bit due to being super interested in him a year ago)
AS a starter over the last 3 years he posted and average of (-8) net rating.
As a starter over the last 3 years he averaged 20.5 points on 17 shots
over last 3 years his TS% has declined year over year from 58>57>55.5
His usage remained on average of 25.9 (last year being the least efficient with the lowest usage of the 3 years)
His FG added is over last three years was (-81.4)
His TS% added over 3 years was (-70)
OBPM Avg 3 years - 1.8
DBPM Avg 3 years - (-2.2)
BPM Avg 3 yers - (-1)
VORP 3 years - 0.8
WS 3 years - 2.9
He is a streaky shooter, 1 month he will have above leage average shooting (40% from 3) then follow it up with a month of 35% shooting from three
Take 2025 - Shot 32% in October-Nov, Shot 44% in Dec-Jan, Shot 35% Feb-March - (Sat all of April)
Not a primary ball handler, does not see the floor especially well. Can make basic reads, very basic ones. Not a playmaker for teammates
Simons as a player is very undersized (Shorter than White, lighter than Pritchard) and his game, outside of shooting, is predicated on his athleticism.
an extremely dangerous combination in a player:
Streaky shooting from game to game (might make 8 of 10 one night and 1 of 7 the next)
God awful defender
game predicated on athleticism
but yeah, I guess he can score 20 points per game on 17 shots.
