Obligatory "it's Summer League", but my goodness this guy is talented. He just needs to get rid of the sleeves, get in better shape, and get to training camp so he can get in sync with legitimate players.

Not bad but 8 turnovers is not ideal. Also he still can't shoot unlike the 3PT sniper Johni Broome!

He switched to short sleeves. A Sleevalytics decrease of 50% over the course of a few exhibition games is very encouraging. Maybe we can get him to no undershirt but double shooting sleeves (the Melo) by the AS break.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

I regret to inform you that turnovers don’t matter in SL. It’s like Flagg shooting 5/21. It’s all fake.

Queen is pretty good. If he was 6.11 and a little bit more athletic he would probably went top 3.

Broome is the better defender, and I’d take his shooting over Queen’s high turnover scoring style. I’d rather give that usage to a guard who can create more efficiently on offense.

Look at those sideburns. He is on the Larry Bird masters degree track for Joe Dirt looking NBA All Star.

2nd best wing prospect after Flagg?

This is the first time he's scored over 14 points since HS. I will say probably not.

Knueppel is a fun weird dude to watch but I have no idea what they are going to do with him on defense. I suppose that doesn't really matter on the Hornets since they're destined to suck for a little while longer.

I thought Kon was afraid to shoot off the dribble?

If I had to guess, they see Kneuppel as someone they can hide defensively, especially if LaMelo commits to playing defense and they surround him with a group of long, athletic players. In that setup, Kneuppel would essentially play the point guard role (outside of primary ball handling), typically matched up with the weakest offensive player. His high motor and IQ could make him a neutral presence on defense, while his shooting and passing add high level decision making and skill on the offensive end.

But man.. imagine VJ playing with Ball, Miller and Bridges.

He’s OK at a certain flavor of defense. Hornets had a big lead almost all game

Early returns, this was a stellar draft class.
always a jump shot away.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
