The last time we traded for a prolific scoring guard who couldn't play defense it worked out pretty good. See IT.

Indiana was never a great defensive team last season and they won 50 games.

Today's NBA is more about scoring and pace.

I agree with you if it's perimeter defense but I do think you need interior defense and that includes defensive rebounding.

IMO if you can't defend the paint and allow offensive rebounds, big offense is not going to be enough to overcome it.

That's why even though I'm curious about Simons, I'd much rather free up money or trade him for a starting quality big.

Yeah, I agree, if rebounding is a problem then the Cs will not be a good team.

Cs need rebounding and rim protection.
If the rim protection is not there then the rebounding part must be solid.

No rim protection and no rebounding will be a lottery team or play-in team.

If the Center is not great then the PF must be good or great.

Maybe Josh Mynot can be that guy at PF.

Seems like Brad wants to flip Simmons for cheaper useful players and draft assets based on the Derozan proposed trade of Demar + a first for Simmons. Im fine with keeping him but they need to extend him at a discount at like $15M per year otherwise just dump him for a cheaper useful player on a expiring like Vuc.

Niang doesn't fit at all and no doubt he's gone before the trade deadline. Hauser's contract number is more valuable than the player so I could see them keeping him to trade later.

Niang fits perfectly.

Brad had a chance to draft Filipowski but he chose Baylor instead.

Maybe because the Cs had a lot of bigs last year and Brad didn't expect to lose the top 3 bigs.
