The amount of control these teams have over a player's young career is kinda messed up if you think about it. At least in football it's a bit easier to move on to a different situation if necessary
The NBA makes it really hard for players to accept the QO because you lose bird rights. If he takes the QA, his only path is UFA and UFA won't be a good time for him given who is projected to have money...
