Ok, I guess I won't make my "Who?" comment then. :D

I guess this is someone we're gonna have to settle for since we keep getting rejected lol hopefully it's a blessing in disguise

This is petty but I totally remember Chris Jent on the Rockets team that beat us in the finals. Grrr

LOL. I sure don't.

And props to anyone who does. 3 games played, 10 minutes total.

His game log for Houston is interesting too. He just played for Houston for their final 3 games in 1994. Played sparingly in the playoffs. He seemed to be a guy used to keep some regular players rested. That has no bearing on his ability as a coach, of course.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Isola has been off the Knicks beat for like 20 years and he’s all of sudden breaking stories again? Not questing the authenticity but it’s really out of left field. Maybe all his Thibs defenses got him in Leon’s good graces. O’Conners and Jent both sound like good assistants. If they’re both the leads guys, makes me feel a lot better about the Thibs holdovers.

I might be team Weiner over Jent
Mike Weinar

is an assistant coach with the Indiana Pacers, having completed his first season with the team after spending 11 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. Weinar was a key member of the Mavericks' coaching staff during their 2011 NBA Championship run. He is responsible for opponent preparation and plays a significant role in the team's offensive strategy. Known for his meticulous game preparation, Weinar frequently communicates play calls and assists players with defensive assignments.

In addition to his work with the Pacers, Weinar led the Mavericks to a championship in the 2017 Orlando Summer Pro League, coaching the team to a thrilling, buzzer-beating victory in the title game. He has also contributed as an assistant coach for the Mavericks' Las Vegas Summer League teams.

Weinar’s coaching career began as a graduate assistant under Billy Donovan at the University of Florida Men’s Basketball Program from 2006 to 2008, where he worked alongside current Mavericks assistant coach Larry Shyatt. During his time at Florida, he was part of back-to-back National Championship teams in 2005-06 and 2006-07. Prior to his collegiate coaching experience, Weinar served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Bronson High School.

I do like that he’s all about creating an offense that’s for your roster specifically.

Stealing a guy from rick carlisle? Yep sign me up for that. Much rather get guys from good coaching staffs like Lue or Carlisles than some dude from the hornets.

Yeah it’s very possible that Jent could be a good hire as well but stealing Carislie’s protege is much more appealing to me. I think Jent will get the job tho, since he has a direct connection to Mike Brown.

Likewise, I remember nothing about his Knicks stint, but I remember when he was with the Rockets because he actually played a few playoff games against us. Even then, it was like Rudy was willing to go deep into his bench and trust à young guy with limited minutes while we refused to go away from Starks…

And he would have fresh knowledge on how the Pacers scouted and prepared for the Knicks.

Both guys sound good, him or Jent
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.
