Seriously, though, he's not that level of player at all.

IQ can be similar to Fox. I think Fox is overrated and had one good year because of Sabonis. Ingram could be a poor man's Durant and comparable to Booker. They aren't a bad top two options on offense. It also allows Barnes to be in a Mobley like role where he focuses on defensive impact. We are heavily being slept on. Unless we get injuries we should be very good.

My impression is is that he is a scorer closer to the level of Demar Derozan and Pascal than to the level of Kawhi.
What are the counter-arguments to this? And even if the above statement is true, do we still have the potential to be a competitive top 4 seed?

His efficiency is similar to DeRozan. He's better at creating shots a little closer to the basket, and he's a much better 3pt shooter. He's a more dynamic playmaker.
But yes, outside of his AS season and the year after, he's generally a league-average ish TS% kind of guy.
The value he brings has a lot to do with how bad we are right now, and how much league-average scoring actually boosts our offense. From him and from Quickley, because of how craptacular Scottie and RJ were in a volume role in 2025.
BI is no where near Kawhi as a scorer. He's more capable with a live dribble than Pascal, but he also doesn't get to the rim much, which hurts his 2P%. He hasn't done well getting shots at the basket since like 2020. He IS pretty good at drawing fouls and hitting 3s, and he's had 4 seasons which would have been above league-average efficiency in 2025, FWIW.
He's far more comfortable, competent and competent with his handle than Demar, way better from 3, and it's a lot harder to force him into a series of really bad 20-footers. He just pulls up for the middie a lot more than going all the way to the rim these days.do we still have the potential to be a competitive top 4 seed?
I'd be surprised. Very surprised, if we were a top-4 seed. We're likely to be around .500. Cleveland will be better. New York will be better. Orlando will likely be better. Atlanta will probably be similar. Detroit will be competitive. Milwaukee will probably be better.

Darko is no impediment to us winning.

I suppose I'm cautiously optimistic for this season; are we likely to be a top-4 seed? No... but we may be within a couple of seeds of it.
I feel that Scottie hasn't taken his growth very seriously, to be honest,
