Something tells me Ware is on a short leash with Spo much like Beasley was.
What i took away from spo’s comments during sunmer league..
The obvious yes, spo and the fans has expectations of Ware, and wants to see a trajectory on his development, not a repeat of his rookie season..
But on a side of that, Spo wanted Durant, but he saw that the Heat did not make a serious push for Durant (there was suns reporters that said the Heat pretended to have interest for Durant to appease the Heat fans and then when they missed they can just tell us “dumb” fans that they were outbidded), even more so, the Heat reportedly would not include Ware in the trade.
So if Ware is this untouchable godly talent, that he cant be traded for all time talent like Durant, Spo wants to see the results NOW, not 2-3 years down the road. Right now.
Riley said a few weeks back that this past couple seasons have been exhausting for Spo, with the personal drama and the Butler nonsense, and the trying to coach a bunch or g leaguers into the playoffs.
Spo probably saw Durant as a way to make winning a little bit easier.. now hes left with a bunch of players on expirings, And he still has Rozier on the roster… he will play rozier powell and herro at the same time…
Just imagine if Ware ends up getting DNP like JJJ’s second season ..
Spo is Spo and having Ware on the Beasley treatment is just asking for trouble. Different players need to be treated differently. It should be noted that in college Ware first coach didnt think he earned his playing time, so Ware did the adult thing and forced the issue by transferring to a team that would play him. This forceful and decisive action got him drafted into the NBA in the first round. All of this was done by forcing the issue to get playing time. History has a tendency to repeat itself if one doesn't learn from it.
