You said the other day that we mainly beat Boston because they were injured, not because we played 5 out

Bro  thats such a reach. I didn’t say we beat Boston because they were injured. That’s a massive oversimplification and misrepresentation. Not only that, but beating them at their own game doesn’t get tossed in the garbage because we beat a bit easier version of them. Come on lol… it was the very version people made the comment about.

Never said he was Scottie Pippen on defense, but he’s not inept either.. passes most peoples eye test here. He’s solid enough for us to play him at the 5 with the right schemes and benefits us greatly on offense at the 5 as well.

What I saw all season was criminal use of him and others on both sides of the ball. Putting KAT at the 4 and not maximizing the advantages he gives us is more of the same Thibs logic that will prevent us from winning a title…

So you're saying we beat Boston because of Thibs willingess to beat Boston at their own game
Image
Absolute masterclass by Thibs.

:D

But back to your point about KAT at the 4, yeah ima have to disagree there heavily fam. He's absolutely terrible defensively at the 5, no matter what the scheme is. Timberwolves tried all of that and ended up paying a premium for Gobert because of how bad KAT was.

Image

 Spinning it to give all the glory to Thibs… dirty move, but well played.. respect lol

KAT at the 5 tho, it’s not so cut n dry with his time in Minny… they didn’t have our personnel or use them this way, so it wouldn’t be apples to apples.

It comes down to the numbers really…. How much would he be costing us on defense vs the advantages he gives on offense? If we significantly up our 3pt attempts and start Deuce over Hart, how much does that also help Jalen? How much more efficient could he be without being doubled so much? Putting the ball in Mikal’s hands more (with Hart out the lineup) as a P&R initiator, how much better does that improve the offense and efficiency too, since we’re not relying on Jalen to do too much… not to mention, when Randle was here, Jalen showed he was very effective off ball.

With elite perimeter defenders in Deuce, Mikal, and OG, is rim protection as important? Having a switch-heavy defense we’d be less inclined to be trading 3’s for 2’s as well like we did all year...

I’m not married to this concept, like if it don’t work, by all means try something else, switch things up, adjust, experiment to try to unlock what will work (different things will work against different teams too). But sticking with 1 way and 1 way only despite it not working isn’t the solution, and that’s why Thibs is gone. Had he tried what he did against Boston all season, along with other changes, he might still be here.

I just think we should be taking that approach to start the season with the starters (because Deuce in place of Hart had very good results), and yes, KAT and Mitch should have time together as well. Brown should be trying all types of lineups with his rotations, same with schemes on defense… try some zone too with the double bigs. It seems like Brown will be open to trying out a bunch of variations like most good coaches do, so that’s all I can ask for.

Sorry, but you don't understand the rules we're playing by right now.

I'm going to call you and sham racist if you say anything negative about the Knicks this season. The Mike Brown protocol is here, you will have to learn to live with it now. I am playing 11th dimensional chess.

I'll even give you a sample

"Oh wow, you gave Thibs so much leeway, interesting how Mike Brown is now on the hot seat in your eyes, I wonder why that is?"

Claiming to be right about everything because the Knicks don't win the title is a time honored tradition of fans...this isn't new.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

The Knicks were -34 with Mitch on the court after he was moved into the starting lineup but KAT was +18 in those same 4 games. :-?

Can one of you explain how this happened?

Sorry, but it says "sh*t posts" and "beef" which this qualifies as. Thibs was not an ex player either, so by your own reasoning he should not be mentioned in here, yet you have done it freely.

So when they win it’s because of Thibs, when they lose it’s because of the players? Be better melo.. be better.

Answer me this… what exactly did Thibs call to prevent Nesmith from getting 100 clean looks from 3 like we allowed all season? The switch-heavy scheme worked against Boston, but why did he abandon it this series? This is why switching works melo…

Mikal hit by a screen.. Hey, it’s KAT in your favorite drop :D
Image

2nd play… breaks down on another screen taking Mikal out the play…
Image

Hart picks up Sheppard who’s rolling, KAT has Obi…
Image

look who’s wide open again :P
Image

KAT picks up Nesmith, OG on Siakam, KAT hit by a Siakam screen, screams to OG to pick up Nesmith
Image

OG too far back and can’t recover. Such a basic move by Indy again and again, yet Thibs had no answer. Players should’ve been switching from opening night to prepare for moments like this…
Image

Hart hit by an Obi screen? No switch? Yikes
Image

Hart tries to recover after fighting thru, but he’s on skates.. hand down, man down
Image

melo, explain this to me… this is your coach. Why isn’t he switching to prevent open 3’s? How is this the players fault? Why were we one of the worst defending the 3? Why are you so against switching? Why do you hate the players?
