What picks are needed to balance this?
—Pels get a healthy player to provide scoring this season plus added flexibility next summer with his expiring contract.
—Jazz can afford for Murray to take all the rehabilitation time he needs. Per Fanspo would have to renounce their TPEs and cap holds, using up all but $74K of their cap space.
—Celts get cheaper cap fodder and can get out of the tax completely with another small move.
I think Simons for Nurkic is close to nuetral. Maybe the Celtics are owed a second. I struggle with the Murray part because the Pelicans really should pay a first, but they don't have a PG after this, I don't think they're deliberately tanking, and Simons expiring only helps them if they cut loose Zion as well next summer.
Given the cap savings I was leaning towards an SRP from BOS, taking into account that Simons is less negative on his contract than Nurkic. They just gave up two to move slightly more net salary. Something from BOS to NOP and something more from NOP to UTA?
As for the Pels issue at point, Jazz could give George (more of a scorer) or Collier (great assist numbers); both have ample flaws. Clayton is another option, but the cost would be higher.
