What?
First of all, KD in his youth was a better face-up slasher than Dirk, who scored just fine in the 2000s. And the best scorers in the 2000s were all ATG talents. Shaq, peak McGrady, Kobe, right? Paul Pierce was a complete wing with a mixture of C+S, post up, transition and slashing offense, who drew fouls exceptionally well. Vince was an athletic slasher with a shot at his peak. Karl Malone was an old big with strength, a jumper and the PnR. AI shot a lot and scored at mediocre to poor efficiency. Then you had Duncan, Webber and Garnett.
Durant was hella athletic in his 20s. He'd have been just fine in that league as a scorer, there's literally nothing to suggest that a guy with his size, speed, handle and shot would have issues in the early 2000s.
