If a FO were inclined, other potential $ incentive options outside of vet min offer include:

1 Lucrative assistant coach contract to his dad

2 Endorsements: The next Shamwow commercial or whatever the f*** we have layin around in the warehouse

3 Job Creation. "Outside" company offers 10 million per year to keep velociraptors out of MSG on a daily basis

Other teams “can” offer him more doesn’t mean other teams “will” offer him more…he does have some decision making issues in his life and a he could be an issue for a young roster

Word.

While I could be wrong, 16+ ppg on an ascending talented team makes me think someone will

I could see that....but it doesn't really hurt us ....we can just sign Shamet and call it a day. It's not like we don't already have Clarkson too.

Shamet isn't that good

In the playoffs he shot 45.0% from the field, 46.7% from three-point range, . His highest plus/minus was +21 in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers. He's more than good enough .

He's strapped for cash. He is not coming here. Our vet min isn't the same as others when NY taxes eat that up. If he comes here somehow then all praise Rose.

How much money can he make off of doing ads for random businesses and companies, as well as appearances, to make up the difference?

I don't understand how Beasley is a fit if we have Jordan Clarkson though.

Ben Simmons to me is the ideal fit, but I feel like something is going on with him that no one in the public knows about. He should have been signed by now by some team.

Beasley is a much more catch and shoot oriented guy than Clarkson. I actually think he's a much cleaner fit than Simmons.

Fun stat, per NBA.com, Beasley took, by far, the most catch and shoot threes in the league last year and shot a ridiculous 43.1% on them. He took over 100 more than the next closest guy (Derrick White). You could make the argument he was the best pure shooter in the league last season.

Another fun fact, the Knicks generated the 4th least catch and shoot 3's per game in the league last season. Having Beasley come in for 15-25 minutes a night with a green light can really jump start an offense that had a tendency to get stuck in mud at times.

Those ad revenues are typically a lot more for a marquee guy, like a starter or Hart. He can probably get at least 10 per or Philly might decide to just renounce Grimes (can they, I don't know), and sign him to a lower deal than what Grimes is asking about. Barring a move that'll free up minutes, there's no way Beasley ends up in NY. Not enough money, not enough minutes.

And the argument isn't about fit. Though I can say I prefer Clarkson's play making over a spot up shooter. If the team didn't land Clarkson, I am certain they would have already signed Ben before this Beasley thing cleared up.

Only real argument here is, in another timeline, would you prefer Clarkson/Deuce over Ben/Beasley.

Where are those 15-25 minutes coming from? Not from Hart, not from Clarkson, not from Deuce, not from Yabusele. And this team's 10th man (Ariel) is probably only seeing about 5-10 minutes per and some nights he may not even play. The Knicks would need to move someone to free up that time.

I think Beasley is someone we don’t need

We already have to many small Guards

Brunson 6-1
McBride 6-2
Clarkson 6-3
Hart -6-4
Kolek 6-2

Beasley is 6-4

We need size

Besides I don’t think he a positive in the lockeroom , distraction. If his name is not Dennis Rodman and has a work ethic and hustle like him I don’t want

I don't think worrying about minutes is a reason not to sign a useful player who addresses a clear need. It may be a reason why Beasley doesn't end up choosing to come here but, the Knicks could use all the depth they can get.

Hart has had knee problems for years.
KAT's Injury history is well documented. Same with OG.
Brunson misses his token 5-10 games a year usually because of ankle sprains.

I think people forget the Knicks were outlier level healthy last season. We're due for some regression in that area. Beasley was legit rotation player for a playoff team last year.

We can use him.

If the Knicks use last years starting lineup we quite literally still don't have a backup wing unless they trust Dadiet to make a leap...If one of OG, Mikal or Hart gets hurt we are pretty thin at the wing fairly quickly.

Return to New York Knicks
