Re: SAC-MIL (Monk for Kuzma)
I guess I’m amongst the few people who still believe that Kuzma has the ability and actually does fit in as a stretch PF which both makes Domas truly deadly with his full skill set and allows Keegan to reach his potential as a true SF - which is where he has always belonged.
Personally I look to make this a move DDR instead of Monk and save moving Monk for the deadline.
My feeling is that DDR is THE problem with the Kings roster - the absolute total worst fitting non position guy we have. Perfect as the third scorer for a vet contender team that has defensive role players established and in place to cover that. He also really is ultimately a SG no matter what people like to say.

I can see the logic on offense. The defense would be brutal, though.

What's the motivation for either team?
Monk is a chucker who isn't really good - Rather the Bucks just give those mins to Ryan Rollins/AJ Green

I guess? Bucks have a million guards. If we have to add, I pass.
still learning the game

I disagree Monk is a chucker. He is ideally a 6th man who has the job of coming off the bench and put up points. Easy to classify those types of players as chuckers. He played the pick and roll with Domas better than Fox and he has the ability to finish at the rim. There is more to Monk than just shooting 3 pointers. His last year in Charlotte and the year on the Lakers he shot 40% and 39% from 3. Average almost as many assists as Fox with less minutes played. He is actually a very dynamic offensive player. His negatives are mostly his defensive game.

The Kings were 3.8 points better with Monk on the court last season. The Bucks were 3.5 worse with Kuzma on the court last season.

Are you familiar with Monk? He was 2nd last season in pick and roll Ppp. Giannis would feast with Monk in the pick and roll. Playing those other guys are fine for a rebuilding team, but a team trying to compete would be superior with Monk instead of Rollins or Green.

Re: SAC-MIL (Monk for Kuzma)
I would offer RJ Barrett straight up for Monk if the Kings would want Kuzma for him. Monk hasn't been on a winning team but he's a good scorer. I think him, IQ, and Ingram is enough scoring power to get to the finals in the East. Poeltl and Barnes can take care of defense.
Poeltl / CMB
Barnes / Mogbo
Ingram / Walter
Monk / Dick / Agbaji
IQ / Shead
I could see them getting fairly deep with that.

I’d be comfortable with this if a pick were included to offset the larger contract owed to RJ.

The stat I was referring to was PPP in the pick and roll as the ball handler. Kyrie was 1st at 1.16, Monk and SGA were tied for 2nd at 1.14.

Are we not looking at exactly that right there where he was no higher than .91 PPP as a PNR ball handler the last three years.

StatDefender posted the stat on X. They are a legit account I believe, so I’m not sure where the discrepancy is.

The one I posted specifically said as the ball handler, this one omits it? I’m not sure if there’s even a difference but that may be the discrepancy.

It's literally straight from NBA.com except your stat is from a 30ish game sample to start the season rather than the whole season since he posted that on Jan 6th. He regressed back to his (seemingly) very consistent norm of not being that exceptional in the pick and roll ball handler.
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/ball-handler?CF=POSS*GE*5&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&dir=D&sort=PPP
Here's literally his parameters of PPP of pick and roll ball handlers with more than 5 possessions a game. Malik Monk is right below Andrew Wiggins.

The same Andrew Wiggins from a 17 game sample size? The 2nd half of the Kings season was chaos - coaching change, star traded, Monk went from 6th man, to starting SG, back
To 6th man, then to starying PG all while trying to integrate a new lineup. Every stat can have added context. My point stands that Monk with the ball in his hands is extremely deadly in the pick and roll, both as a scorer and passer.

The point stands, this Malik Monk that you called out someone for not knowing who he is and pointing to a limited stat has been pretty much the exact same PNR ball handler his last 3 seasons in Sacramento, and it hasn't been that great.

My stat was “limited” because of a 30 game sample size, and the list you posted had even smaller sample sizes. My point to that poster was that those players he compared to Monk aren’t close to his caliber which is a fact.
