Letterboxd is the most popular movie tracking app as far as I can tell. They've said they will add support for TV, but I don't think they actually have yet.
What's the difference between Letterboxd and just entering stuff manually in a spreadsheet?
If you only care about keeping track of what you watch, there's not much. But Letterboxd can be good for suggestions based on movies you've logged. There's a bunch of cool stats & stuff, but you have to pay for that.
I started tracking a long time ago so my history was all over the place. It was good for me to get it centralized.
I like the idea of Letterbox'd as a way of Remembering Some Movies. A year or so ago I started going back to the beginning of film and logging which ones I'd seen. After about ten hours I quit because I had other stuff to do at work.
