It's petty, sure. But Trump didn't break the law to cancel that extension. If he did, it will get appealed.
Definitely never mentioned breaking the law. But it's not just petty either, it's yet another break to precedent and decorum to the Office. Cheney had his SS detail extended by Obama and had less credible threats against him than Kamala does. Even more than that, it's about pretty blatantly leaving someone who was literally second in command less than a year ago vulnerable to assassination in a hostile political climate and just months after 2 successful political assassinations of others from her same party.
He's turned the armed forces against the people in multiple American cities using an "assault" to a random guy in a made up agency of his as a justification, but this decision is no big deal? Yeah ok. She's also about to go on a book tour and he knows that.
Luckily America's greatest governor is going to provide security to her and her family in lieu.
