Also think a decent chance Scherzer is back. Will likely be a battle for at least 1 or 2 spots between Trey, Manoah, Francis, and Varland. And Tiedemann as the sleeper.

Also a good call for Joey to play some 1B.

Lauer is arbitration eligible, and he will be brought back.
You have to put him in the equation for a starting spot next year as well.

I assume he starts the year in the rotation, and if he struggles he is replaced by a younger player.

They desperately need Bieber back - this rotation needs an ace. Then with Bieber, Berrios and Gaussman, I think there’s enough depth in the system to find the last 2 starters + depth.

Manoah
Yesavage
Lauer
Adam Macko
Tiedemann
Bloss
Bowden Francis
Even Varland, the FO has signaled they want him to start

Could be some intriguing competition in spring training for last couple of spots

Gage Stanifer has been promoted to NH where he ought to get two starts before the end of the Eastern League season.

Also, some nice performances by Austen Cates at Vancouver. Add him to the list of interesting prospects - though not our best just yet.

What has happaneed to Jays Top INT free agent they signed in 2023 -

The club has agreed to a $4.1 million deal with outfielder Enmanuel Bonilla, the No. 7-ranked player on the Top 50 International Prospects list. The Blue Jays, who have a base signing pool of $5,284,000, have not confirmed the agreement. The deal is pending a physical.

Haven't heard much about him, i'm guessing hes' still in rookie ball?

Yeah crazy, went from top prospect last year, to ped, to this year can't hit at all.

Guess cut our losses cause he was taking up a roster spot

Also always was a horrific fielder. If he can't hit, he's not worth much.

If Orelvis gets claimed does he have to go the majors?

Or can a team claiming him have to put him on their 40 man before sending him into the minors.

Not losing any sleep over this but wondering what the procedure is when you DFA a minor leaguer on your 50 man roster.

Anyone worried about Loperfido not bouncing back after the minors assignment? I read he hit poorly down there, hoping his confidence isn't shook after putting together a solid rookie season for us & just getting the short end of the stick. Not sure who else could've been sent down to maintain his confidence at the time, but in the end I wonder if he'll be productive enough to keep on the playoff roster. Hoping so but if he keeps going hitless I guess he'd be okay to send in for Santander...

Not overly worried about him. His bigger issue is a path to playing time with Santander coming back. Varsho, Lukes, Santander all hit from the left side so no path to playing time. Will be interesting to see what they do in the offseason as we suddenly have a lot of OF depth.

Last year was such a missed opportunity for him. If not for the PED, he probably plays close to a 100 games last year.

Could’ve easily been him doing what Barger is doing this year.

Just looked at Arjun Nimmala’s stats.

13 homers, 224 average, .694 OPS in 120 games. Really ran into a wall after the fast start in Vancouver.

Could not find split or monthly stats, but didn’t he have like 7 or 8 home runs in his first 30 games?

He was still 3 years younger than the northwest league average this year (per baseball reference) so no need to panic, but it’s going to take some time for him.
