:o WOW. That was fast.

Those Snyder fans are now on suicide watch. They're never gonna live this down after how much trash they tried to heap on Gunn.

Snyder die hards are so insufferable. IDGAF if you're a fan of his movies. You don't need to tear others down to lift up your faves. Man of Steel got over a $100 million more in international sales than Gunn Superman and yet Gunn Superman is only $60 mil behind in total sales. If they didn't have a crazy July slate of movies that everybody was going to watch, it would have crossed a billion

They're already coping saying Gunn announced a sequel to try and salvage the franchise cause Superman was a failure

Yeah I think his fans suck and frankly Snyder didn't understand anything about what makes Superman great. Gunn did. He made Superman an absolute boy scout, aw shucks good guy who just wants to be kind to people and animals...and it worked. Because that's what the character is. Not some moody dude whose Dad told him its ok to let people die.

There's a version of this with Superman, but the only place I could find it was one of those subreddits where they were all complaining "I must have missed that part of Superman when I was a kid" like yeah, YOU'RE THE MEME, YOU'RE IN THE PICTURE

F*cking dumbasses. Sometimes I wish I were that stupid, cause ignorance is truly bliss.

I don't understand how they missed that part

Like literally the lesson behind Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man is the same: If you have the ability to stop something bad from happening, you should do it.

"My home got blown up so I will love and cherish this one and the people of it and protect them."

"My parents got murdered in front of me as a child. I won't let that happen to anyone else."

"With great power comes great responsibility."

How do you miss the point this badly? It's blatant.

Like even Iron Man has a noble message, he started out as a arms dealer and realized what he was doing was hurting people, so he stopped doing it and literally dedicated his life to protecting the world. He was selfish man who became selfless.

Captain America was a weak and frail man with a sense of honor and duty, and he gained incredible power. He didn't let that change him, in fact his power magnified his character.

All of this stuff is "woke". Always has been. Nothing has changed. Comic book superheroes for the most part carry a social message. Where does the media illiteracy begin?

I mean, you hit the nail on the head with the Captain America thing

When you get power, it doesn't change you, it magnifies you. Power doesn't corrupt, it reveals. The same serum that made Steve Captain America made the other guy Red Skull

The type of people who think Homelander is cool are the type who would do those things if they had the power of Superman

The most simple answer though is they watched those media before they viewed everything through the "woke/not woke" lense. Like, there's a new Avatar (the Last Airbender) in the works, and the main character is a girl missing a leg, and the chuds are calling it woke like the original series from 20 years ago didn't have the most powerful non-Avatar bender be a tiny blind girl and her being blind was a huge part of her character

Sharp as a cue ball, those ones.

This one is also there. I loved the first remake. Thought it was really well-done and a fun experience. I actually went back and played Crisis Core a year ago...didn't expect it to be so emotional for me.

My kid won't let me use his damn ps5 to play expedition 33 so im honestly thinking of getting one to play it this winter. Its been highly recommended to me by a few people.

I usually just game on switch. Waiting for a min before I grab the switch 2. Don't feel the need to cop it yet.

As for film/TV I haven't watched anything compelling in awhile. I dont know why but the older I get the harder I find it to lock in the screen.

I prefer to read. am about halfway through book 5 of the storm light achive. Love Sanderson world building, pace, characters, everything really, excpet one big thing. the whole time im reading it I cant help but wish he had a touch of Joe Abercrombie's darkness. It just feels too close to young adult fiction. Makes it hard to immerse into the story.

I’m glad your kid is giving you a hard time :D

From day 1 he has been a lil menace.

If Avatar (the first series) came out today, they would have harassed the creators and called it "woke" because a non white boy is the main character. Or a blind girl as a supporting character.

Like this is some kinda weird sickness man. The most mundane things are attacked simply because the characters aren't white males or if they are a white male, like Superman, showing kindness and empathy are viewed as BAD things. That is warped behavior to me coming from adults.

Superman = Kind, loves people openly, helps others because it's in his nature to protect the weak and vulnerable.

Homelander = Cruel, raped a woman, abuses and murders people, has no empathy for anyone.

The second character is viewed more positively by these men (yes, it's mostly men) than the first.

This is 100% societal rot. It did not used to be like this. For as much as people want to talk about "the woke mind virus", it seems to me that something is seriously wrong with the men that walk around screaming about wokeness 24/7.

It's a fun watch. The cast is really good. It's not exactly scary, but there are some parts that are definitely creepy.

Slow burn to a crazy ending.

I get it had the whole "Rashomon" thing going on and it's really good, but I might have like Barbarian better. Then again, maybe that's because that was brand new/shocking.

Looking forward to "Dust Bunny" now.
