Wonder how long "final stages" are. We should know more soon-ish. Who knows when that is.

I don't put much store into Beasley and Cade/Duren being in Rome at the same time. That could mean nothing at all.

Wait for the real facts. Always.

I would bet that that they told Beasley's lawyer that they will do their investigation in a certain timeframe, so it doesn't linger on past the start of training camp.... essentially saying we'll spend a few months and if we can't find anything we'll close it up so he can move on with playing... because at some point you can't just drag it out to the detriment of the player. You either find something that is solid enough to suspend the player or you don't.

So the wraping it up scenario could just be the fact that training camp opens up September 24th.

Silver also said; "As I understand it, there's still a federal investigation that's ongoing of Malik Beasley as well. We will address whatever is presented to us in his case."

Is the league waiting on those results or will thet move fwd independantly? And same goes for potential suitors.

What a rollercoaster of emotion!

Hoping the next update is Landry Shamet signs with the Knicks and takes that roster spot

Brooklyn is in NY and they have wazoo money to spend. But Cam Thomas will be an absolute black hole this season, so not sure playing for the Nets would raise Beas's FA value for his next kick at the FA can.

Those three posts about NY is peak RealGM. I love it.

This is my best place for news when I'm not up-to-date.

Not sure why I’m not taking Brooklyn seriously as a team for Beasley.

Makes total sense Malik goes there for the money given his issues.

I would hope getting a taste of winning last year would make him think twice with going to a team where MPJ and Cam will essentially be taking turns jacking it up.

My buddy said it best…Malik seems like a golden retriever…he might not do whats best for him and may seem stupid sometimes, but also seems stupidly loyal.

New York just signed Brogdon. I don’t think NY is going after Beasley.

Right, I was talking Brooklyn as the threat now.

Had thought Shamet took the last Knicks spot, but they magically had room for Brogdon today. Wonder if a guy like Kolek could be had for cheap since he is now buried once again.

I'd be pretty surprised if Brooklyn swept in and offered Beasley a major contract.

They're not trying to compete this year- they were sellers this offseason, and they already have Cam Thomas and multiple young guards. It's not a natural fit.

Stranger things have happened, but yeah, I'd be surprised.

At this point I think our biggest "competition" is suspension, banning, or just nobody signing him.

I dont want to celebrate yet, but I'm starting to choke on all the smoke.

Its starting to look clear, that Beasley is coming back, which to me, makes the upcoming season, one for the books.

Expectations are gonna be shattered.

I guess this will be higher than expectations, which were low when TL basically said we were standing pat. LaVert and Robinson, and presumably Beasley, while just losing THJ and Schroeder is a good offseason, but far from a great one. Trading for Jabari or Lauri for draft picks would have been even better. But I’m obviously not as patient as TL

I’m good w seeing what we got, and waiting until at least the trade deadline before making a move. We will be deep! (Not sure how the wings play out, but here’s my guess in the world of position less NBA)

Cade/???/Sasser
Ivey/LaVert
Ausar/Robinson
Harris/Holland
Duren/Stewart

Maybe we can flip Sasser plus a second and get a more veteran backup PG, but otherwise looking good.

I'm not sure why. Beasley would be nice and all, but We finished the season with one hole, and ended free agency with two holes. Beasley would fill neither one.

That article is AI slop, and there is no recent news. As Omari has noted, nobody is touching Beasley until he's fully in the clear for next season. That means being fully cleared by both the feds and the NBA, AFTER which he'd need to choose the Pistons despite being faced with a substantially smaller role.

I think people just need to accept that we're not going to know what's going on with this until the investigations have all fully concluded.

The information you seek simply isn't avaialble.
