McBride or Clarkson should start if Hart's finger looks that bad. McBride is the best fit offensively because he won't demand touches. McBride could have a good game with few shots if his presence alone spreads the floor and he defends at an elite level

Hart should play SF off the bench with brogdon and clarkson at the 1 and 2

KAT is solid on the defensive boards

If we are hitting shots to start games, we should not have that many offensive boards to grab

Sprinkle in some Huk, Dadiet and Shamet when needed. I still wish we nabbed a veteran wing but Dadiet has upside so let's see what he can do

He needed to be better. Some of us just have high standards and expectstions while others make excuses and coddle.

The only real 5th starter on the team is mitch. But that doesn’t help with spacing or playing 5 out. But playing kat at C is terrible for our defense.

Also Deuce, jHart, ect are all bench players.

We definitely helped our bench this offseason but our starting 5 is still messy. The problem is Brunson and kat arent two way players. And the real issue is its hard to win with a big who is a terrible defender.

Yup. Bench has been improved but starting lineup is still not complete. The Brunson and KAT pairing will continue to have their defensive struggles because both are terrible and KAT is really at his best playing the 5 and benefiting from the open floor. Don’t think we added that true 5th starter so expect the new coach to do some shuffling to figure out what might work.

The positive thing about this season is that the East looks as weak as it’s been in a long time so the opportunity will still be there.

I'm rooting for Deuce to shock the world and show everyone that he is a legit starting-caliber 3&D 2-guard if he got to play the majority of his minutes alongside Jalen, Mikal, OG, and KAT

Deuce is 25 years old in his 5th NBA season.

Brogdon is 32. Clarkson is 33. Hart is 30. Shamet is 28 with a long list of injuries.

Deuce is younger than all of these guys and has a 6'10 wingspan that benefits him on defense. He needs to outwork them and win that starting SG spot.

He seems small for a 2 guard. Even though he is a solid poa defender. But if his shot isnt failing its really problematic. And I think you can get away with a pair of undersized guards when both of them are elite offensive talents which deuce is not. He is best suited as a backup combo guard. Or the bigger issue of starting him on our team is.....

It leaves us weak on the boards and also puts kat as our paint defender where he is atrocious.

We're gonna win a lot of games this year. Hell we can challenge for the ecf. But its going to be frustrating at times watching this team defend.
