That’s a fair assessment. I think Hauser being under a team friendly contract and Eason expiring make the value assessment challenging.
I think Shepards value is all based on perceived potential that I don’t think is there. Thats where the hiccup comes in for me as a Celtics fan. I’d love Eason, but do not want Shepard at 3/36 and the. Have to deal with a 20 million QO after that. I genuinely think he doesn’t live up to his rookie contract and his ceiling is below Pritchard.
Shepard might turn into a solid role player, but I also think there is an equal chance he is a fringe NBA player.
For the Celtics trading away two top 100 players with proven playoff chops in their prime on team friendly deals is risky….
I can also see Houston not wanting to Move Eason. He arguably has the highest ceiling in this trade, but I think he will get paid 20 million plays per year in 2026 and onward.
