Cheryl Reeve would be in prison by now if that had happened.

Talent on the court means absolutely nothing if the player that possesses it is a selfish disease permeating through the locker room.

I really don't think she would be that big of an issue, especially on a winning team with good chemistry. Personally, I take talent regardless of attitude unless it really is THAT bad, and I believe very few cases are THAT bad. I would rather gamble on that talent getting it together than them being a massive problem. On top of that, if she was that big of a problem she is still tradable. She is talented enough to still command a decent price. It's an easy yes for me.
You make some solid points but we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one, brother.

On the upcoming Lottery, I actually hope that the results end up with the Lynx landing Azzi Fudd. It might open the door to motivate Bueckers for a move back to MN. :)

I understand the sentiment, maybe she is THAT bad, I just don't believe her to be and I also don't believe she can't mature. I'd look into moving that pick for her even in a trade but I would want to do my research first, including gauge her attitude for playing with us. In my mind, even though it was a disaster, I do the Jimmy Butler trade. I think it was a fantastic trade at the time and I don't blame Thibs.

Talent is paramount at the end of the day. I also believed that we could trade her if things did go south, her value would be lower but I didn't see it dropping so fast in one season that we couldn't get assets. Again, I know many disagree but personally I always bet on talent and try to work the other stuff out. From a marketing and exposure standpoint I think she also would have been a huge win for the team. Minnesota has pretty strong support for the Lynx and that combined with our cemented dynasty status (if we had her I think we had a good chance of beating New York last year and possibly winning it all this year).

I think surrounded by all that positivity could further help her mature. Sometimes players are knuckleheads until they get surrounded by the right people, and again, even still, I personally don't see her as that intense of a malcontent, but I also don't know enough about her to have a real judgment. All that to say, it's absolutely a gamble I would have taken, barring my absolute belief that it would be a disaster, and maybe the Lynx did feel that way at their core. I don't with my limited information.

Reece set herself up as the nemesis to Caitlyn Clark with her play and her comments, and she alienates a lot of the new WNBA fans that Clark brought in, including nearby Iowans that may not attend Lynx games with Reece on the team.

There are already Clark fans that dislike Reeve for her comments on omitting Clark from Team USA, and unnecessarily hash tagging “theWismorethanoneplayer” and “#12teams” when Clark was driving the huge rebound in WNBA popularity. Why further alienate a lucrative source of fans by adding Reece too?

I think the impact of that as overblown. Even if it is a thing, I think it would be temporary. That's just how I see it, I don't really concern myself with the extreme portions of a fan base when it comes to something like this and I also think winning, cures everything. Clark has her rabid haters too and Reese actually having early success and wins would spark a lot of interest and discussion. There could be a poor man's Bird vs Magic kind of energy between them and the Lynx/Fever and I see that as a good thing.

I just see a lot more tangible positives than the hypothetical negatives. Clearly the main brains behind the Lynx did not.
