Giannis said in his greek interview with Harris that he gave Mariah two options for the kids. Milwaukee or Athens.
Shams reports in that story when Horst and Giannis met in July giannis was happy and commited to the team.
Yet shams continues to push a false narrative just to farm clicks.

I just have no confidence they'll ever luck into another guy like Giannis. They won a title off his greatness and in spite of themselves. A competent org has multiple rings with the guy. I am forever grateful for the title. Top 10 moment in my life. But when the freak goes, that might be a wrap for me. Not out of protest or anger, but likely just consistent building apathy.
I don't know. We had the best team in the league for like a four year stretch. It's hard to win a ring normally but add in COVID/Bubble/Riots, back injury, dames Achilles, blowing a 2-0 lead in ECF, etc. it's not like we were the KG wolves. The team made some bad moves but also tried making good movies and threw a ton of money into the pot every year. Half the mistakes were compromises to keep Giannis happy.

You have to go back 8 years before you find a team that has won multiple championships (Cleveland) and even going back 11 years they're the only one that has done it. I think the new CBA has basically done it's job in creating parity and it's simply much harder to do now. I agree that Giannis is an all-time great, but Denver still only has one with Jokic as well.

I don't think Giannis is oblivious to the fact that we've been knocked out of the first round largely due to series-altering injuries, from Giannis to Khris to Dame.
The real issue is that our general manager isn't good at identifying talent and our coaches have sucked at cultivating it.

Giannis has been doing nothing but mentioning how much he likes the turner signing n thinks this team has gotten faster n better.
Edens emphasizing Giannis committed to the team in June put Giannis on the spot to say "all the Shams reporting was incorrect."
He did the opposite.
The timing of this Shams piece also makes it seem like Giannis recently had someone leak info about the Horst meeting in July and talks with the Knicks.
Either way I share your high hopes that the team will be so good that it makes all this moot!
And if any of Shams' reporting is incorrect (extremely possible he's puffed it up!) Giannis could clarify at any point.

The new CBA makes it so hard to shed salary I’d just call the Knicks bluff on being able to sign him in free agency.

I mean, for anyone thinking “if we’re not contenders this year he’s gone” then it sounds like you’ve already made up your mind cuz that sounds like 100% cope.

When is the last time a star demanding a trade out resulted in a title? AD bubble ring? And even that was more so joining debatably the best player of all time, not just another star. Kawhi didn’t demand to go to Toronto, that’s just where he ended up.
The monkey paw curls more often than not for these superstars getting their wish.

Probably Kobe to answer your question

By like 90 minutes, come on.

But yeah, the rest seems ominous.

If the criteria is "star demands a trade", that's a very small group, so it's not surprising that it doesn't often result in a title. In the last decade, probably half the instances are Jimmy Butler. Kawhi does count, though. If the criteria is "star demands a trade to a specific team and gets his wish", how often does *that* happen? I feel like *all* of those instances might be Jimmy Butler. Probably why he keeps doing it.

I don't think it was ever his family that tied him to Milwaukee. He was always going to be able to move them to wherever. To the extent this is a negative thing w/r/t his plans, it's as a sign or a symptom, not as a catalyst. Personally think it's a negative thing primarily because they are all going to be sad.

ESPN getting back to the basics.
I'm guessing we're going to keep seeing/hearing this heavily to start the year. Really odd timing for this to all get leaked now and does nobody any favors. I love Giannis, but this is partially on him for letting it get this distracting. For someone who says they don't like the drama...

Yeah agree, I mean more from a standpoint of how long he wants to remain an NBA player.
Getting Greece the medal probably stirred up feelings.
